i think that depends on wladimir , haye just hasn't got the style to beat wladimir but vitali is very beatable he is well past his best and haye would beat vitali .
i don't think haye has much of a chance of unifying the belts but he could well get one belt again .

He might get another fight with a Klit, but no chance he unifies the HW division.

As pathetic as it all seemed when he got his toe out in a post fight conference, I honestly believe he would have had a real chance in that fight if he was injury free

I know everyone cringed watching him strip himself of every shread of dignity during toegate.
but have you ever broken a toe and tried to walk on it let alone spring off it in quick explosive bursts?

I genuinely believe that a fully fit david haye has a far better chance of landing solid shots on wlad than he did first time round and i believe haye has the power to hurt wlad.
I'd probably still fancy wlad, but i'd give haye a good chance

Its not inconceivable he could claim a vacant Wbc or best an aged vitali in next year - then a rematch with wlad becomes a huge match for the undisputed title assuming wlad can keep juggling his defences in meantime.

I don't know how much his injury hindered him executing his in and out game plan, or how much was the fact he was shocked by how fast wlad was once he was in the ring. A lot of people feel he just gave up after mid-way and decided to take a points loss rather than risk being sparked by staying in pocket and looking for the ko himself.

He certainly did himself no favours with his exagerrated falls to the ground each time wlad leaned on him. That was pre-meditated but just a bit embarrassing really.

The question was 'could he'.

I believe with the right approach Haye can beat Wladimir, and personally I don't think Vitali has much left now; so hypothetically if Haye was to beat Fury, get a second shot at Wlad and win, there isn't much to stop him unifying.

All hypothetical of course but he definitely 'could'.

I think Stiverne has a good chance of beating the current Vitali. If he did him and Haye would be a fun fight.

I agree, even with the injury Haye gave a much better account of himself than the vast majority of recent HW challengers Wlad has disposed of. There's every reason to assume he's capable of giving Wlad a much better fight when he's 100%.

If he fights Wlad again and that's a big IF I believe Haye would go in looking for the KO the problem being he may well get KTFO in doing so. I would fancy Haye over Vitali just now, and if he keeps fighting for another 3 years I can see him winning another belt. I also think he got undeserved stick regarding the toe especially from Fat Dan, Wlad wouldn't have fought with any injury...

He wasn't undisputed cruiserweight champion FACT.

Haye will never beat Wlad no matter how he fights. He'd never put it all ont he line to try to land that big punch anyway. Not part of his make-up to be brave and put himself in that position.

Disagree, now his fought him and knows he can't outbox him I think the rematch will see haye taking more risks, I'm not saying he would win but if he knocked wlad out I wouldn't be supprised !

Haye wasn't unified Cruiserweight Champion.

Steve Cunningham was IBF Cruiserweight Champion. Haye decided to move up to Heavyweight rather than fight Cunningham and attempt to unify.

I guess the legacy risk vs financial reward wasn't worth it.

A shame as a win in the USA vs Cunningham would definitely have been a better World Title win that his one over Enzo and arguably better than Mormeck too as Cunningham was in his prime whereas Mormeck was 37 and no longer in his prime.

These days it is impossible to be the undisputed champion for the simple reason that there are so many alphabet soup orgs around there will always be someone who can dispute you.

Haye was unified cruiser champ. He held all the belts except IBF.

What he wasn't was undisputed.

Or has the terminology changed?!

He beat the man who beat the man who beat the man.

Mormeck and Bell had all the belts. Just because the corrupt IBF decided to strip Bell between his battles with Mormeck doesn't detract from the fact these guys were the top guys.

Haye then whacked Mormeck, regardless of IBF shenanigans. Undisputed.

You remember when the media gave up on the sanctioning bodies when the WBA tried force Lennox Lewis to fight John Ruiz? And the WBA went into its downward spiral of Ruiz wrestling matches while Lewis continued to be recognised and referred to as the 'undisputed heavyweight champion of the world'?

The sanctioning bodies have become unmanageable in the last decade, worse than they have ever been in their history. You can't hold it against a fighter for not being able to win all the belts with so much dependent on their murky politics now.

Haye can possibly win an alphabet title but he will never unify the titles. Klitschko is going to stay around for another three-four years and by that time Haye will be half as fast as he is now.

Completely agree. Wlad needs roughing up, that simply isn't Haye's game.

I don't know mate, seems like a massive ask to me. Obviously in theory any HW could but I assume we're talking about the likelihood of it actually happening. Wlad wins 8 times out of 10 for me and that's before you think about the other belts.

After the Klitschko-Povetkin fight the 'regular' WBA title will be vacant again, so maybe there's an opportunity there for Haye - he is currently the WBA's #1 contender.

Why doesn't Haye make an offer Wlad cannot refuse for a rematch? Wlad could see it as an easy nights work, whereas Haye could set the record straight and go onto greater things and make up the moneh he would be giving up. That is of course if Haye really believes he was hindered first time around...

It wont really mean anything though as he'll just be a belt holder.

Yes, I know but he'd go in the record books as a two time WBA heavyweight champion of the world. Also, being a 'champion' again would give him more leverage in any future Klitschko brothers negotiations :-)
