talented junior searching for gym/trainer

My 12 year old from Liverpool NSW has learnt as much as I can provide and now requires someone to take him to the next level. Have been to a couple of PCYC's that would be more than adequate for most boys his age but he needs someone who will build on his style/ability, not try and force him into their own style.

He'is a good nice kid who only needs to be told something once and doesn't mind sparring boys older than himself.

Thanks.

Liverpool aye, does your boy train with James Akauola?

There are some good trainers who post here, hopefully someone pops in to reply.

James Akauola is a great trainer.
If you know so much about boxing and how he should be trained maybe you should train him?

No need for that kind of talk. No one is saying James isn't a good trainer you can be the best trainer in the world but not be the best trainer for a certain fighter.

No, I have been his sole trainer/educator/father since he first debuted on this planet.

Coming from a boxing family there has never been a shortage of advice + opinion when it came to "his best interest" but I made the decision along time ago that his first decade of pugilistic education would be completely enjoyable without any outside pressure.....

Next year he goes to high school and everything gets serious including his commitment to the sport he has pledged to make his priority from now until......

this is why I want him to fly solo (without family interference ) as he needs to be removed from his comfort zone and progress both mentally + physically :box:

well said. :TU:

too many dads push their kids into boxing to try and re-live their careers, or lack of one.

I didnt say anything bad about James, he is a great trainer. Most young boxers who have come from Liverpool/Cabramatta pcycs have trained with James Akauola including myself.
