Pacquiao V Marquez, who wins?

This looks like it could be yet another featherweight classic, two great champions in their prime squaring off against each other to see who the worlds best featherweight is
The good news is that its getting shown on SKY(albeit delayed)
Although Marquez by no fault of his own never looked great in his last fight against Derrick "I will survive" Gainer & Pacman looked great against Marco Antonio Barrera El McCoy verdadero is sure Marquez wins this one by late stoppage
So who do you think will win?

Good question, McCoy. This could be a classic. Both are true pros with all the moves. Perhaps, the Filipino can edge it on points. He's looking sensational in sparring.

Pacquaio is a monster
But i am picking Marquez to beat him. Marquez hits very hard himself, and is quick handed. Pacquaio has been hurt many times throughout his career by punchers not as big as Marquez. Having said that, i dont think Marquez has been tagged by a punch like pacquaio's.

Harrison beats them both right Mccory
anyway Pacman by wide points win with marquez hitting the dec once or twice

Bennie, there is no doubt that Pacman could win this one, its a real 50/50 fight, that could go either way
It will also be interesting to see how Barrera comes back after his defeat to Pacman, cos it seems like he has been around forever!

On the fence, I would even like to guess it. I will for the prediction league, but not a clue.
However, I do give Barrera more of a chance against Marquez than Pacquiao. Barerra likes to be the faster guy (hand speed) and he has been throughout his career, but he got beaten to the punch time and time again vs Pacquiao. However, Marquez is that little slower, which will suit Barerra.
However, Marquez is somewhat stronger than Barrera and I think he hits harder than the Baby faced Assasign - this makes him a harder proposition for the smaller, sometimes vulnerable, Pacman.

This is bound to be a great fight, and great news Sky will show it. I'm leaning towards Marquez too, at the moment. Good big man beats a good little man etc..
Manny Pac might just be a better fighter though, and he may even hit harder. The bookmakers seem to think he wins it.
But the Mexican looked very strong beating Medina, and his KO of Robbie Peden is looking even better now. Slight edge to him, but anything could happen.
I think Chi will beat a faded Barrera too. The Pacman fight will have taken a lot out of Barrera at this late stage of his career.

This might sound controversial, but I don't think Barrera has ever been the same fighter since the first Morales fight. Nothing (IMO) physical, its just a mental thing (and I don't really blame him).
He has never fought with the same intensity since, it seemed like a string to his bow when he embarresed Hamed and he could get away with being the boxer vs Salud (before Hamed), Tapia and Kelley. However, I think he needed to be Barrera the fighter vs Morales the 2nd time (although I scored it Barrera a CLEAR winner) and certainly against Chi.
I don't think he's faded physically, just he doesn't like to fight. Barrera has shown he is a master boxer and he's one of my favourites of all time but he needed to be a fighter against the faster Pacquiao.
I think Michael Brodie might have caught hard war syndrome from Barrera. He should have forced the pace, he got outboxed the last time on the back foot but did well in the trenches - last week he didn't want to go into the trenches again.

Marquez looks classy as hell and Pacman completely dominated Barrera, very tough fight to call. I'll say Pacman by KO but Marquez is incredibly sharp with his punches and very accurate, Pacman could play right into his hands with his aggression.

Yeah, not many can do what Marquez did to Medina - for me it was one of the standout performances of the year. Then Pacquiao tops it by doing the incredible.
I am so greatful for this, I don't think I have looked forward to a fight so much since Judah vs Tszyu, actually I am looking forward to this one more.

I think the fight took alot out of Barrera, but not to the extent that he hasn;t been the same since physically...like you say it's physical.
like you say it's mental. I seen him on a few interviews saying that h wants as long a career as possible, that means being more cautious and opting to box, instead of brawl. He did a great job against Naz. If that fight didn't come along, he may of kept the brawling style, but Naz's power commanded respect, and Barrera adapted...and i think preferred the boxing style that he applied. He won the fight, without the pain he had to come through against Morales, 1st time around.
with the confidence from the Naz fight, he thought he could do the same with Barrera and was lucky to beat Morales in the rematch.
i dont think he's afraid of getting hit, i think he just though he could be as successful as a 'boxer', using technical ability.
Pacquaio surprised him with his speed and defence. I think he underestimated Manny. He tried to fire back...but he hadn't done this for a while, and i dont think he expected before the fight he'd have to do this.
be interesting to see how he fights when he comes back. I do think his 'boxing' style is effective, but he needs to be prepared to get stuck in like the old barrera at times as well. He's better like that IMO.

This is a fight that i've been drooling about for weeks now. I know for certain i'm going to get butterflies just before it starts (incidentally, am i the only person that happens to?).
The interesting thing for me is whether or not Manny can put in the same level of performance that he did against Barrera. I say this because until Barrera fights again we don't know for certain if he is washed up or if he was beaten by the better man.
I've watched Marquez for a long while now and IMO Manny's style is just perfect for someone who carries the obvious dig that Marquez does. I'm hoping for a long fight, a 12 round classic. But for me Mannys earlier defeats will always leave big questions and i'm picking Marquez to stop him within 6 rounds.

Pick em job, but an easy earner if you are quick enough. Back Pac Man at 5/6 (Stan James) today and then wait until 7-10 days before the fight. The odds in Vegas (which most UK bookies follow) will drift on JMM (he is already about 11/10). I am predicting he will go off something close to 5/4.
5/6 - Pac man 5/4 JMM = happy days.
PS - so tough to call but if you are holding a gun to my head, I will take JMM to win via stoppage (this from a man who has backed Judah and Atttila Levin with hard earned in recent weeks though).

Great trailer Sky put together wasn't it. Can't wait for this one next week.
I keep changing my mind but I'm starting to think Manny wins it with his speed.
Wont be able to walk through the Mexican you'd think, like he's predicting...

Marquez by KO.
He hits HARD.
2 fisted power.
Better ring intelligence.
More skill... beautiful to watch.
Throws COMBINATIONS
Better defence.
Not as vulnerable to being hurt
Slower, but will have prepared for the angles and movement of Pac.
Pacman CANNOT outthink Marquez.
All of which can go out the window with a big left hand from Pacman.
But even if hurt, Marquez will catch Pacman.

Gotta go with the Pac Mans speed.

What a tough one to call. I'm leaning towards the Pacman, primarily because of his handspeed.
Did anyone see Marquez's loss to Freddie Norwood, as given the plaudits he gets I'm surprised he lost this one. I know Norwood was an awkward southpaw, but you'd still think that Marquez would have taken him out if he's as great as everyone says he is.

I was reading an article about the Norwood fight the other day. It was a close fight by all accounts, but Norwood did floor Marquez in the second round ....I think?
Still, Marquez has matured now, and Norwood was unbeaten at the time and went on to beat another future, if limited champ in Julio Pablo Chacon; so Norwood couldn't have been that bad. So I can't wait for this one. Marquez to squeeze a decision for me, but anything could happen.

Norwood is not a stationary fighter and Marquez has trouble with movers.
He was lucky to get a questionable stoppage over Julien Wheeler who IMO was giving him fits.
Another thing that makes this a great fight is that their trainers are two of the best cornermen in the business.

I'm going for the pacman to ko him between 6 and 10. Too much speed and too much power.
I'm more of the opinion that the pacman was that good the night he beat MAB (rather than MAB being way off key)......I know he had a lot going off in the background (surgery rumours and that fire in training etc) but Manny was awesome and he'll be a match for Marquez if he brings that type of gameplan this Saturday night. Gonna be a great fight.

Thats a good question Adam and one that is keeping me on the fence. Pacquiao hurt Barerra more than in any of his fights. Okay Junior Jones had him out of there with a one-off beauty of a punch. However, you could see pain on Barrera face with pretty much every shot Pacquiao landed. He is clearly a strong boy.
In Marquez though, Pacquiao is facing a stronger fighter than Barerra, he is big for the weight and I think can hurt Pacquiao. I have never seen what Marquez is like when up against it - I didn't see his loss to Norword (who was a very good fighter). He looks great against Light Punchers who he can walk through, will he be able to walk through a strong man like Pacquiao. This is the question that will be answered on Saturday.
I feel if Marquez can get through he can hurt and possibly KO Manny, however if Manny's jab hurts Marquez and Marquez reaction is not good. Then Marquez will just get a beating. This is why I am so on the fence.
Its possibly my "dream" fight for 2004 and I can't believe it is happening.

I lean towards Pacquiao, so fast, so hungry and with such painful venom in his punches.
Marquez is clearly a force too though and I expect a good tactical plan from him. It's a shame Derrick Gainer became the most gun shy fighter on the planet last time as it proved very little other than the Mexican champ can intimidate the weak.
