Bailey definitely had the power to spark out anybody with one shot, but he spends a WHOLE lot of time waiting for that one shot to land. He'd definitely land his money punch at some point on Gatti....I don't know if Gatti would be able to get up and fight on or not after a knockdown or if it would just be over...but because of the success they've had in their respective careers. I gotta go with Gatti via close Split Decision victory.

Never cared for Bailey's chin. Posed too much.
Gatti is the true warrior here. Would take out the dangerous Bailey by the 8th round.

Very interesting fight, I'm no expert like you guys but I gotta say I'm not sure Bailey could cope with Gatti's pressure if he intends to wait for the KO punch like Gilgamesh pointed out :)

Nobody's an expert in the sense that they can get every fight right, sometimes sh*t just happens in Boxing that you don't expect that's the nature of the sport. But I'd say there's a few of us who are as close to being experts on the sport as anybody else is, at least as far as understanding a fighter's strengths and weaknesses and predicting fight outcomes.

You can tell who knows their sh*t and who doesn't, and Rover...you know your sh*t on Boxing.

I am an expert. I know what would happen here. But I don't feel like just giving away the answer.

Huge puncher who won belts at light welter and welter. Could be quite inactive looking to land the KO shot.

:OhYes: I meant you guys clearly know what you're talking about whereas because I have only been following boxing for a couple of years I am not as confident in what I know and don't know :)

If you follow the sport passionately enough you'd be surprised how much you can learn about the sport in a short amount of time.

It will be a fun fight while it lasts. Bailey with the KO power against Gatti with the wrought iron chin and who you had to absolutely break down. It is going to be one of those fights that goes the distance and I think Gatti breaks Bailey mentally through the punishment he takes fro him and fires back at all to either to get a late stoppage or causes Bailey to quit?

I remember I started following the sport in 2002 really hardcore, and I was talking to a teacher of mine in High School in 2005, he told me I knew more about Boxing than anybody he'd ever met in his life

Goes to show what 3 years of hardcore devotion can bring.

A lot of knowledge on Boxers from eras before mine came from being able to read through Ring Magazine articles about Past eras. The Magazine has sorta gone to sh*t now, but I'll always love it's place in Boxing History and all that it taught me about the Boxers of Past eras.
