I think it was be a good match.
I know that, but it wasn't too hard to convince Stewart to just give up. A lot of the knockdowns he suffered in the Foreman bout looked like he just went down not to get hit.Rover wrote:Povetkin on points (not that confident about this, as I don't know what would happen if Alex landed some bombs). The guys who stopped prime Stewart hit harder than Povetkin.
George was another big puncher, though. And Stewart survived that.gilgamesh wrote:I know that, but it wasn't too hard to convince Stewart to just give up. He basically had no heart until he hung around for a few rounds and started to get a little confidence in himself.
No doubt he was a big puncher, but watch the knockdowns again. Several of them were not knockdown inducing blows, Stewart wasn't sure if he wanted to quit or not is the way I took it. Once he realized Big George was older and slower than he thought he got confident and made a fight of it.Rover wrote:George was another big puncher, though. I agree with that. I just think Povetkin is the better, more skilled fighter. This fight could be drastically different, depending on which Stewart shows up.Rover wrote:Foreman was quite intimidating. Povetkin isn't.
The only guy who took prime Stewart out in 3 or fewer was Tyson. Holyfield, Moorer and Foreman couldn't do that. And most Povetkin fights (aside from shot Rahman) are longer also.gilgamesh wrote:I agree with that. I just think Povetkin is the better, more skilled fighter. Well whatever I'd still favor Povetkin by KO even if happened later in the bout. If Stewart was at his best he'd be able to hold Povetkin to a close fight.Rover wrote:The only guy who took prime Stewart out in 3 or fewer was Tyson. Holyfield, Moorer and Foreman couldn't do that.
