daniel geale; what TF happened?

people say he was loading up, he was 'unusually' easy to hit, and dumped his 'in and out' movement that has served him so well. he looked overawed, looked like he was trying to impress with a KO, and looked nervous.

thoughts?

He fought a good fighter with a similar style who beat him to the punch on a few occassions. I scored it 114-13 for Geale due the the 10-8 rd.

He lost the fight because 2 judges gave the 12th rd to Barker which was ridiculous as Geale won the last clearly and rocked Barker.

The only thing I notice about DG was that he came in without throwing punches too often. Usually he comes in behind a good jab or a combination, a few time he walked in a just covered up.

His uper body movement was still good but he got hit more than usualy because he was in close the whole fight. I don't think he was loading up tbh.

I think Geale lost a lot of steam after the knock down when he tryed to finish Barker off. Was a great fight however Barker beats (That version of) Geale all day long.

I watched, theres no way imo Barker took the title, close good fight, at the end of it, whose nose was busted, who's eye was cut, who looked like they landed the telling blows, and a 9 and half count....I think Barker should feel himself lucky.

Not the same Geale i know in that fight, but still didn't lose the title, have to admit this hurts, and hurts bad.

Where to from here?

And when is Boxrec, going to reverse the NC against Soliman and place him with the win.
Sturm is not the number 1 contender.

Tbh i think Geale had lost the fight before he even stepped foot in the ring, At the weigh in it was obvious Geale was distracted. Geale v Soliman is still very viable and if Geale was to win it would make him the #1 contender for the Ibf title.

Soliman has retained his number one ranking but the winner the of the Sturm/Radosevic fight was to get the next mandatory challenge for the IBF belt if Soliman loses his appeal. Even if Sam loses his appeal he's in line for the next IBF mandatory after this one.
If he doesn't win his appeal the fight result will remain a no-contest. I haven't seen anything at all about how that appeal is going but since the Barker camp is saying Sturm is their mandatory I'm assuming it currently is not going Sam's way.

I think Geale and maybe more so his team thought they were to good to fight Soliman. It kinda shows when Barker schooled Geale, Someones head was way up where the sun don't shine.

Convict, your taking the piss mate right :D I agree Soliman should have got the fight, but i also belive that Daniel was doing what his team thought was best....whilst all that shit was going with Sturm/ Soliman.

I still want to know who honestly believes that the challenger took the Belt?

what do you mean "didn't lose the title"? do u think the title holder is favoured in close rounds?

do u still have your score card? if so, post it up

It was a close fight but i had Barker winning it. After he got up after the knock down he came back strong to end that round - After that i kinda new Barker had this in the bag. Dont no why Geale was taunting Barker? Its not like Geale was winning or avoiding punches.

Maybe we can see a Geale Vs GGG soon.

Adam, yes, yes i do think if it's that close the champion gets the nod....has it been any differnet in a legitimate( non mafia, or money) associated title fight?

do you have your score card?

challenger taking the belt us the stupidest argument. If someone wins more rounds then they win the fornicating fight. Enough with the bias shit.

Ok God, i just follow what your opinion is from here on out. who said anything about winning more rounds as well god!

I'm making a point, so far alls people have come up with is they were close rounds, i say by normal standards the champ gets the nod in those rounds, or does only suit the more popular fan friendly fighters?

Bias, get fucked, i watched with 2 eyes.

Geale just did not do enough to win the rounds needed. The round where Geale was taunting Barker? Come on man he should have been throwing punches instead he got hit clearly for his stupidity.
That whole fight Geale looked undone - like as if he was sick before the fight because he just didnt have the vitality/Energy levels that I seen of him before. But then again Barker's game plan/tactics may be the answer to that.

Why do I have to post my scorecard hounddawg? U cop out. I'm asking you.
You're the one making allegations. Naive ones at that.

The fight was close. It could have gone either way. Geale didnt do enough between rounds 8-11. And cost himself the fight.

I watched Thursdays telecast, strangely thier was a fight that was closely contested, and to my astonishment, the commentry team, Andy Raymond, and the little big Man, used the famous statement " He just didn't do enough to take the title from the champ".

It's not an argument, it's peoples general perspective! And if you think otherwise, i'll just role past yours in the future.
