Tim Austin makes a terrible move...

Former long-reigning IBF bantamweight champion Tim Austin is on trial for the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Cincinnati. The girl, a friend of Austin's daughter, was staying overnight in the fighter's home last May when the alleged rape occurred (two counts).
Austin admits he had sex twice with the 16-year-old accuser, but said it was consensual.
"She has made sexual comments all day to Timmy," his attorney, Ken Lawson, told jurors.
"She had flashed her private parts that day to Timmy."
The teenager told police she consented to nothing, that she woke up in the early morning on Austin's couch with him penetrating her. She didn't cry out or fight back, she added, partly because she knew of Austin's reputation as a fighter and partly because Austin's fiancée was upstairs.
After the first sexual incident, the accuser told police, she was too afraid to do anything.
After Austin returned an hour later and imposed himself upon her again, she said she called a friend and began crying.
Earlier this week, Austin rejected a plea deal offer that would have, in exchange for a guilty plea, reduced the charges and the possibility of a lengthy prison term.
Austin won a bronze medal in the 1992 Olympics. He reigned as the IBF champion from 1997 until February 2003.

Really sad news. Austin was one of my favourites but has turned out to be a sicko, if these allegations are true. Gutting.

Come on now, I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose

Big mistake - but under age is one thing, rape is another. Hope he gets a fair trial.
I just got back from watching the film/doc "Capturing the Friedmans"
Jesus, what a fantastic film :o

The accused are offered a chance to plead guilty, for a reduced term, or face around 100 charges and life without...

Alot of people, even those who are genuinely innocent, will take the plea rather than face a jury who will probably find them guilty ( especialy on a under age sex charge ) and send them down for 20 years.

Austin has taken a really big chance, he better have an ace lawyer on hand.

What a scumbag anyway, even if it wasn't rape, mounting some 16 year old girl while his missus is upstairs. Could at least have brought her in on it and had a threesome.

Here, Here, I'd agree with James 100%. I bet the girl was well up for it.

yeah but if he'd involved his wife, she'd have been done too. So that just shows how much he loves her. He's a saint, or he should be. I'm writing to the council of churches and the Vatican.

Piss poor pop songs.

And some very dodgy pictures on his PC. Or was it a set up and revenge by PC World for his Piss Poor Pop songs.

Crap hair as well.

Gary did actually make one decent record, 'hello (it's good to be back)'. Even though his original was awful, Oasis did a great cover (first track on 'what's the story') proving that the record did have some merit.

KOJOE is right to blow the lid on the infamous 'pc world set-up'. This conspiracy theory is far more believable than some of the others going around at the moment.

I would also like to take this opportunity to distance myself from the aforementioned Mr Glitter. My username is in no way connected to the fat, kiddie-porn loving slaphead.

I honestly thought i'd never see the day when Gary Glitter got a mention on boxrec. Today is a sad, sad day for boxing.

Thanks, SS. Austin held his nerve in court and walks. He needs to think with his head from now on.
