Sorry if it has been discussed on here before. Pretty decent discussions. I thought Steve Collins came across atrociously but apart from that some good debate.

It's on on Thursday. Then, I kid you not, we are getting a Froch-Kessler behind the scenes-Fightnight! I don't know how much further they can take this one fight. It's been about seven months now.

When I saw this on the TV guide, I thought it was a new one.

To be perfectly honest I dont think Collins said anything too ridiculous or deserved to end up getting grief. Eubank's single aim was to get on Collins' tits and he achieved that.

I thought Collins made good points but just fell victim to eubank being a cock.

Collins believes he would have beaten calzaghe and said every fighter is beatable. Is there anything so wrong about that?

Get real , if collins eva thought he could of beaten Calzaghe he would of tried to , Collins picked his targets , a decent couple of Eubank wins aside ,he never fought anyone worth a squirt of piddle in their prime ...fact .
He was a tough guy but over achieved imho when he beat Chris :)

Do people think Collins would have beaten Benn at every point of their careers?

If not how far further back into Benn's career would you have to go before Benn would win? The McClellan fight? Or further back?

Collins like Calzaghe was just a right man right place kind of fighter though obviously not to the extremes of Calzaghe

Great bit of tv, thanks for posting the link.

Colins was a bit of an arse, Eubank keyed right in on that, the donkey comment was class.

Calzaghe was a great fighter no doubt, but his career is way over rated. Outside of Kessler he never faced the best fighters of his era, he cannot/should not be held in such high regard just because he retired undefeated.

I just have a hard time seeing Calazghie beating Benn, Eubank, Collins, Watson, Toney, and Jones prime for prime. Did I hear in that programme that Eubank actually taking the Calzaghie fight on two weeks notice? Collins just sounded like a bitter man, who embarrassingly is still wanting to fight an active Jones silly man.

Comparing Calzaghe to Collins in any equation is pure sacrilege , Calzaghes one win over a prime Kessler is better that anything Collins eva even dreamed about . :box:

So are you of the opinion he would beat them in their prime? I regard all of them better than Kessler when he fought Joe. But saying that when was Calzaghie in his prime and who was he fighting?

Collins was a faded forced, floored by a no hoper in Cummings in his last fight. He was smart enough to get out with a high rep, rather than a one-sided defeat to Calzaghe ...who would have been way to quick for him and peppered him to death.

Kessler had a broken right hand against Calzaghe... Or do all those who fell off the Hatton bandwagon and climbed onto the Calzaghe wagon refuse that would have any impact on that result ?

Some prefer to listen Kessler's version, he didn't. And good fighters become popular. Look at Froch, couldn't even sell out the York Hall at Championship level and has never sold out his own arena, even against Bute, but pair him with Kessler and its an instant sell out. Is that from people who have fell off the Calzaghe bandwagon? I have fell of and on so many bandwagons in the past I am surprised I haven't injured myself.

I wouldn't. I couldn't trust myself not to start saying "believe you me" and "holding his feet" after a few pints.

Not true Mickey, not many can almost completely fill a massive building at British / Commonwealth level.

If you were there at Robin Reid or Tony Dodson at the Arena, you would agree the place was packed to the rafters. That was in 2006 and 2007 respectively on a cold raining Friday night.

You portray it like there was huge segments of the audience with gaps, in reality, row Z was even occupied. As was each of the 18 executive boxes with 25+ people in each one.

I summise that you were at neither of those fights and those that read this thread, who actually went along, would agree it was rammed.

Sold my two tickets for the Bute fight to my mates who did indeed say it was packed. Basing my statement on Froch's brother trying to sell the last few on Twitter and them going for below face value on the secondary market. Froch-Kessler, Haye-Harrison and Haye-Fury are examples of a true sell out.

A great, great show. Thank you for sharing.

They all came off very well except Steve Collins. Collins is totally delusional and in denial. His rambling excuses for why he didn't fight Calzaghe are cringeworthy.

Floyd Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero had almost a 1,000 empty seats in an arena smaller than the 02 London.

I think the UK is in fine form with regards fans actually going to the live event, and your always going to get a few dog end tickets at the £40 mark row Z that nobody wants.

There have only been a couple recently that have struggled to sell 4,000 venues.
