Thanks for your messages and interest. I don't get on the forum that regularly and so am happy to respond via email, if needed.
I met Hagler in Milan but agreed that it would be a biography rather than an autobiography. He was very generous and helped me arrange interviews with the Petronelli brothers and other seminal figures from his career.

I'd love him to come tour the UK for a couple of "evenings with". He'd be great for a few Q&A, great career and great athlete.

He used to come over here a few years back, I looked after him for 5 days whilst the Lonsdale club put on a dinner show for him, great guy

Hagler is a nice guy now but he was a surly, embittered figure even before he won the world title from Alan Minter in 1980, almost as if he knew it would all end in pain and regret, and it did.

I enjoyed the Hit Man book and have pre ordered this on Amazon - though I'll get grief as I was bought a kindle to stop the books coming through the door.

The Lonsdale club organised his birthday party, they need a reliable guy to drive him, show him round london, etc., hence 'Looking after him'. took him to stringfellows 1 night, Naz was in there as well!!, Naz loved it when I introduced him to Marvin,

Hello Damian,
Is this the only book out on Hagler? How did you manage to get the job of writing it? I read your Dad's book on Jock McAvoy, enjoyed that.

Ordered mine from Amazon. Does it make any difference to the writer where it's bought from? I'd hate to think you'd lost out after all your work just to save myself a couple of Pounds. (Feeling guilty).

Strange thing about hagler even in the immediate aftermath of him beating minter and certainly by the time he beat sibson Islamist got the impression he was the epitome of what the London boxing fraternity considered a man's man a true boxer.u sensed the respect monster had for him throughout the 80s.I remember when monster in his commentating stints for the BBC before the srl fight said he thought Marvin would crush ray in one.and I remember as a kid in th he 80s seeing posters of hagler all over the abc
