It'll be about money, as ever. Hatton has a deal with B allegedly but there's no chance of fwank paying big money to Hatton (or Maloney, or McGuigan, or Khan) for the licence to television the show. The production costs of televising the show are massive in themselves. Total guess but I'd be surprised if F wank pays out a penny more than what it costs his channel to cover the TV production costs. I think under the old Sky TV model, Sky covered the TV costs and paid 100k per live show, on average.

As promoters, Ricky, Khan, McGuigan and Maloney are struggling with no TV outlet. They need B allegedly, but it doesn't necessary mean it works both ways. F wank has done fine buying overseas TV shows to keep up his channel's live boxing schedule. I just can't see him handing over a significant 5 digit sum, plus picking up the TV production costs, for a show with somebody like Murray, Price, Frampton etc in the main event.

Ricky can't stage Murray vs Quillin in the UK without a lucrative TV deal, as the champ would need paying a bomb. Murray vs Quillin wouldn't draw a massive gate either, Quillin is unknown in the UK and Murray's two world title bouts have taken place overseas. If Golden Boy want to promote the show in the UK, they'd still want UK television rights income. I don't think the money is there, unless your promoter's first name is Eddie.

It's sad but if you aren't with eddie then your just another miserable inactive british boxer on the outside jealously looking in as he gets all his fighters regular tv dates,title fights,exposure etc

I guess it depends on contracts , however as restriction of trade may not be availible as he has had a couple of meaningful fights.

To be fair to Ricky, he has got him two shots at titles. Not bad work at all. Both times live on tv, one on Sky, what do you think he "deserves"?

No. But I would say arguably beating 2 world champions in their back yard might mean he 'deserves' a fight away from their back yards. A fair fight. Even in a neutral venue, I don't think I suggested that Murray deserved a shot in his hometown.

Ah no I agree. It was just a general statement rather than any kind of criticism. He's had it tough for sure! Saying that though it's been the same for Barker and Macklin aswell.

Barker was still fighting on a Gary Shaw show though so he wasnt the house fighter and I know he didnt fight Martinez in Argentina but Martinez is a big name in the states being the lineal middleweight champion and has been established there quite a while now and again it was a Lou dibella promoted event so he wasnt going to have any favours off the ref. I get your general point though.

News to me that Richard is CEO of Hatton Promotions. Thought that was Ricky's role.
Usual bluff and bluster until Richard S discloses precise details of the offer.
Having seen his negotiations in action before I have no doubt that the purse for Martin would have been "keen", and the contract would include options should Murray prevail, and the obvious rematch clause.
One of the best tactics to employ when you're not getting your man's career heading in the right direction is to blame everybody else for fights not happening.
The Squire of Herfordshire was / is a master at it.
Maybe that's what Richard S is up to ?

Wow he really lets rip there, for the good of Murray's career though he really could do with teaming up with Matchroom and getting some relevant fights on home turf such as Andy Lee, Barker, etc.

I think possibly one of the problems Murray has, is to my mind he isn't a big ticket seller, I don't know if he's had enough career exposure in this country to start selling small arenas, that's why he needs Hearn big time.
