The end of round 14 " Loughran seems to have done enough to win this fight."

The end of round 13 " Loughran appears to have this fight under control."

The final punch stats: Charles/Loughran

Punches Landed / Round 17.20 25.80
Punches Missed / Round 41.87 54.73
Punching Accuracy 29.1% 32.0%

Threw more, landed more, better %, and the announcers thought I won. Back to back tough fights with Charles, resulting in a draw and MD loss. I felt I could have won either of them. It seems this season, it is REALLY tough to beat a champ. They tend to get the benefit of the doubt on close rounds.

Good two fight series though and maybe they will meet down the line. Charles should be very happy not to receive a loss out of the two fight set...

Looks like my fighter will always be the bridesmaid again this year

Loughran has certainly shown he's a Championship caliber fighter in his own right, and the decision against him definitely suggest they give the Champs benefit of the doubt in close rounds as you say. :TU:

geto....I agree on "It's good to be champ" this season. Though I don't like to be this candid, Gibbons has gone on by the skin of his teeth on more than one defense that could have gone either way...the Loughran defense included. Charles has had the same lucky streak. Both the Langford and Loughran defenses were pretty dicey on the decision.

It's unprecedented in Sim History, that two fighters have had such a charmed existence.

But there is a T at the end of this road, and a page is about to turn.

What I find funny is no one is pointing out that two weeks ago we fought Langford and beat him by a wide decision, and this week Gibbons had to settle for a split decision with Langford.

That's because the time for words is over. Whoever is the better man between Gibbons and Charles is about to be decided once and for all, head to head. None of the other stuff matters now. It's all come down to this.

What people are honestly forgetting is that Charles already beat Gibbons this season, no?

Well looking through my old title records, at a glance:

Tiger Jack Fox is the obvious answer, he went unbeaten until well into the 20 weeks... But he never had a guy who went win-for-win like the two current guys are.

Back in the Featherweight season, Salvador Sanchez (WBC Champ) and Rafael Marquez (IBF Champ) had a fairly intense rivallry both men were the original champions for their titles and had 5 title defences each... They never unified.
