Riddick Blowe cites Tony Thompson for Audley

Felt this merited a thread on its own. Riddick Blowe wrote on another thread: "Someone on the current scene forum was at the Levin/Williams fight, and said that he overheard someone offering a guy a fight with Audley. He thought it might have been Tony Thompson. Thompson has a couple of decent 'gatekeeper' wins and at this stage would be a very good opponent for Audley."

This guy has the kind of record Audley is looking for: Good on paper, but relatively untested.

Looks ok, lets hope this guy actually does end up as the opponent tho. I cant see many people wanting to step in with less than 20days notice tho.

He looks to be pretty much the B level fighter, a notch better than the bumkiller status. Audley needs to beat this B standard of fighter, and quick. I'll be pleased if it is Thompson (although this is only at tentative rumour stage, understand) but I'd actually prefer Ray Austin or Castillo. This guy could go down quicker than expected, whereas Ray Austin cannot be stopped with conventional weapons.

Oh, sure. I flagged your post because there's no doubt Audley's opponent will be someone like Thompson. Someone with a record that flatters to deceive.

Lets just hope it is someone of the quality of Thompson, either that or Vladimir Virchis. Can u really see anyone better than these guys wanting to step in with a guy like Audley at less than 19days notice.
