Can Michael Sprott put another spanner in the works for a ranked German on the 31st sept (I know Teper is Turkish but he's ranked 5th in Germany)

and if he does should he Fight price for the British title ?

Price should fight Sprott regardless of whether he wins or loses this fight.

If he does then he'll end up on David Price's comeback radar. He maybe already.

Sprott has been doing a truly miraculous job in europe the last few years. id love a Price fight and then retirement. No Dannying about !!!!!!

To be fair, even Jim Evans in his corner told him, 'You're finished. It's over' after the 8th round against Helenius.

The guy has had 57 fights (many of them quite tough ones), so is more than entitled to retire if he so wishes.

I'm happy to watch him if he continues, but I just don't want to see him stick to 17 stones or less, and not balloon up as he has done in a couple of fights, and also to get away from the journeyman mentality - where it sometimes looks as if he's not trying his best and is content to get outpointed. He wasn't in that journeyman-mode for Gerber, but he was for Pulev, Helenius and others. Whether or not he was capable of beating them, I don't feel he gave them as good a fight as he could have.

The question of retirement will very much depend on his performances, I understand what funso is saying about "dannying about" no one wants to see that. but as long as Sprott puts in competitive displays as he has done so far. I see no need for retirement on his night Sprott will give any heavyweight in the world big problems he is a class act inside and outside of the ropes I would love to see him string a few wins together and win a title again

Totally understand what Deano and Benelio are saying, BUT why Fight Price if you plan to retire after the fight imo that is stupid if i knew it was going to be my last Fight i wouldn't make it such a hard one...... Would be a Journey Man and i would under No illusion that i am going to win and Look Class It will be a totally a different level that iv been fighting at and i wouldn't carry on, thinking how great i looked etc in that fight..

I think with Williams he was getting sparked out within a few rounds whereas Sprott is losing on points or putting up some kind of a fight. And against some kind of level of opponent too not complete dross.

As long as he keeps doing that I don't see any reason for him to retire unless he wants to.

That's a surprising result, Sprott's normally a cert to go a few rounds at least. Anyone know anything about this?

10 out of 11 of this guys opponents have had winning records. He's stopped a fairly high percentage as well.

Had a quick look on youtube, might be OK at European level. Has some power in the right hand but looks a little open and a bit one paced. I would have thought the 2013 version of Michael Sprott would suit him down to the ground. (i.e. not very mobile, relatively small so not likely to outjab Teper etc.)

Teper reminds me of Sinan Samil Sam.

Sprott got caught by a big right hand when trying to land his own , floored quite heavily. He got up at 8 on unsteady legs and tried to cover up when attacked again, went over and the ref ruled a slip. When Tepar attacked again Sprott ended up in his opponents corner the towel came in from Sprotts trainer, but the ref couldn't see it, couple of punches later and the ref stepped in anyway with Sprott sagging.

Who was Sprott's corner out of interest? I was under the impression his longtime team would walk away after the Helenius bout.

Curtains for Sprott now. Good fighter, a lot of decisions in Germany should have gone his way some years back, but in recent times such as Helenius and Dimitrenko he has seemingly lacked passion. To get blown out like that, 39 in January, do the sensible thing and seek other employment. Fond memories all round.
