Remember him losing to Martin Rogan in an Amir Khan undercard in Belfast years ago. He was a big lad alright!

Darren is a good pal of mine, no big story, just making a comeback, never really gave up in his head, Paul Boyce has taken him on, he has a good stable at the moment.

Thanks for the info. Will he be coming back any lighter than last time round? Not really sure what he's like in the way of technique because his size placed severe limitations on his movement and basically restricted him to heaving round the ring looking for haymakers. However, I heard talk that he had a bit of talent.

Daz is genuinely talented, won a British title in the amateurs, ran Kevin Evans close, there was not much between Evans, Morgan and Gammer. He definitely would have been in the British title mix if he had been more focused and motivated. He is a proper puncher too.
It will be tough for him now, well over 30 and still heavy, but he needs a few quid, he will have some opponents brought in, he will be the home fighter so I expect him to get some wins, just depends how motivated he keeps himself.
If you want sparring for your fighter give Paul Boyce a ring.

I often wonder what would have happened to Morgan's career if the ref hadn't helped Dolan back to his corner - Dolan was out on his feet.

Kev was earning decent sponsorship, was also getting funding from Elite Cymru, travelled the world with the amateurs, he also felt it was his destiny to medal in the Olympics. On top of that he did not like many of the characters he met in the pro game. I tried to persuade him to turn pro but he is a single minded guy who was happy with his lot. He is running a boxing gym now and again is very happy with how things have turned out for him.

Speaking to Darren the plan is to keep himself and dorian darch apart then go in for a welsh title fight. He's looking very lean, hitting hard and theres no issue with his chin

Cheers Coco for the info on Evans. It's the same for a lot of the Irish lads. They are on High Performance team with funding and some have managers with sponsorship deals and appearances with Olympic medals etc why would they turn pro? Sounds like it's the same for guys like Evans. Good luck to him.
