I just can't see mayweather ever fighting outside the states. It's just something he says to please fans during the build up to every fight.

Can't see it coming close to selling out, people don't particularly like Khan and the same applies to Mayweather. Mayweather won't fight outside Las Vegas anyway, it's not worth it financially with the site fees he gets from the MGM and the difficulty it would bring for PPV. Throw in that it's unlikely the FA will want scaffolding, seats etc on the pitch a couple of weeks before the cup final and it's a non starter.

I can't see Mayweather fighting in the UK either.

And whilst I would love to see this, Khan really hasn't done anything to warrant this fight. He lost to Garcia and struggled against Diaz. If he beats Alexander fair enough but at present, ha simply a former paper champion in the weight class below.

All that said, it does not really matter who deserves it such is Mayweather's power, he can chose who he wants to fight.

You dont think that Mayweather and Khan would sell out?! Ive got to disagree on that one. They might not be liked but they'd still sell tickets. Mayweather fighting over here would be huge. Look at the turnout he had at the peacock gym when he was making a brief visit to promote his fight with Marquez. It was crazy!

Oh dont get me wrong, Khan definietly doesnt deserve it but id enjoy seeing Mayweather pick him apart.

Tickets for Alvarez were $350-$2,000, they'd have to be more because there wouldn't be a site fee and with the time difference there'd be a loss in PPV money. People won't be prepared to pay £300+ for a seat in the top tier, they talk about being up in the gods at the MEN etc, Wembley is far higher, the fighters would look tiny. I don't think there's any fight that could sell 100,000 here, especially at those prices, the only fight or fighter that would have been able to sell out Wembley is Hatton against Mayweather.

Last top 5 p4p fighter from the US to come here at or near their prime was Gerald McClellan over 18 years ago. Site fees and TV schedules mean they make more money in the US. The really big money does not come from the live gate.

That's true. Saying that though, Floyd has always seemed to have a bit of a soft spot for the uk and shown a desire to box over here.

Mayweather is loved over here after Hatton. Showed a lot of humility after he beat him that night. He'd be the home crowd favourite. Look at the undercard to this weekends card. To sell out Wembley you'd have to do something similar. Murray-Golovkin/Quillen or even someone like Fury v Wilder. It would be put together properly and no doubt in my mind it would sell out

Total none event, Mayweather would simply find the gaps that Khan leaves glaringly open in every fight, Khan struggles to hold of fighters with half the talent of Floyd so makes anyone think he could give him a decent fight.

As a fight in the U.K, it couldn't get any bigger for Mayweather, easy pay day really and I'm a Khan fan.

The part about the fa cup final is all you need for it to be non starter for that time of year in uk!

Lets not pretend the FA aren't partial to £££. They can make it work

Mayweather wont fight here. The reason is our UK tax laws. He could lose more money than he would earn. If he competes in the UK revenue and customs will demand a cut of his money from sponsors such as sportswear manufacturers and luxury products attached to his name. This is worked out by dividing the number of days a sportsman competes in the UK by the number of days he competes elsewhere.

As he only fights like twice a year. He would lose 50% of his total earning from his other fight as well as the fight against Amir Khan. It's not just 50% of his purse, but his total global endorsement income as well.

It's the same reason Usain Bolt wouldn't run here. The only reason he ran at the Olympic London games was because he was exempted from our tax rules.

Rafa Nadal pulled out of the Aegon Championship at Queen's Club due to the UK's tax demands.

Golfer Sergio Garcia has admitted in the past that he limits his appearances in the UK because of tax laws and Uefa admitted in 2008 that Wembley missed out on the 2010 Champions League final for this very reason.

Unless HMRC exempted Mayweather from our tax rules. He wont ever fight here.

The man would sell over 100k tickets plus thousands of hotel rooms. I'm sure they could come to an arrangement

I can't see it. They can't have one rule for one sportsman and a different rule for all others.

They won't come to an arrangement for anyone, it was only done because it was the Olympics. He wouldn't sell 100,000 tickets either, for a start it would be difficult to get that many people into Wembley and people won't pay a few hundred quid to watch him.

So how did they get it in 2011 and 2013?

Khan circa Roach and Ariza would have been his best bet.

He will not come because he will find out how much tax he will pay and that will be that.

Funny how it changed the year after though? I have no idea. Back room discussions, threats most importantly money. Football in the UK is worth billions each year. Even UEFA would have to, to use a pun "play ball". To insure their pockets continue to overflow with money. It's more than worth their while having the Champions League final in the UK. As it's in their best interests and economically viable considering how much the sport of football is worth in the UK.

Wouldn't be worthwhile for Mayweather to fight here though.

For Floyd to come over and fight here there has to be one of two things:

- Either more cash than he can get at the MGM; or
- A fight worthy of travelling whereby it has considerable enough reward to enhance his legacy.

There is too much cash at the MGM and all prospective contenders are much the same, and bo where near enough to enhance his legacy. mainly in part because itnis so high anyway meaning if Khan really does want Floyd then he would do it at the MGM.

Mayweather has announced he is fighting on the Saturday closest to the Cinco de Mayo holiday when thousands of Mexicans head to Vegas. It's the same weekend as his fights against Oscar, Mosley, Cotto and Guerrero. There is no chance he will be fighting anywhere other than Vegas.

I can't see him ever fighting at Wembley. The megabucks from Showtime depends on good pay per view numbers. In the unlikely event he were to come over here- it would have to be an indoor fight so it could start at a convenient time for the American viewers
