Oh no! He seemed to be doing well in a recent video I saw of him. Tragic that he endured such a horrific accident while still young, but he showed true class all the way.

It reminds us of our own mortality.

RIP

He gave the GOAT Hell over thirty nine hotly contested rounds.

I met him once, we shared an elevator ride together in Ft Lauderdale Fl.

We spoke briefly, I told him I was honored to be in the presence of such a great fighter.
He was humble, and made me and my wife feel comfortable in his presence, very unassuming, and he gave my first wife his autograph when she asked. (She hoodwinked Joe Frazier out of his in Virginia Beach as well..lol.) He spoke gently to us, and I felt I was in the presence of a very good person.

We have our first names in common.

Rest in peace, Ken, I trust you know full well that you accomplished much in this lifetime.

Kenny always came across as a decent human being, and went a fair way towards breaking the stereotypical knuckles dragging on the ground neanderthal boxer type that many people see fighters as

..can't recall the title and don't have time right now to find the book, but there is a good autobiography by him and it's worth looking for it in google or maybe amazon. in it he says his first sport was really football and he thought he was going to be a football player. had too much intelligence for that so he became a boxer.

RIP Kenny. So sad to hear this. Norton was at the centre of that 'golden era' . He truly was Ali's biggest puzzle to solve. He gave prime Holmes his toughest fight, beat Quarry, Young, Bobick, Middleton among others....
I went to meet him once in a town called Bromley. I read in the Boxing News that he would be at a book signing...i went that day and searched the whole of Bromley looking for the bookshop where he was meant to be but alas I couldn'nt. Nobody i asked knew anything about it...a mystery to this day. I always thought he was an excellent analyst and his observations very insightful. He came across as an erudite fellow. Sad news, RIP Kenny.

He seems to have been distinguished in almost every sense. A great fighter, a superlative all-round athlete and a good man.

Rarely in a bad fight and a top 5 heavyweight in the golden era. And a decent actor too, sad news.

To me, Ken Norton was the only fighter in my eyes to beat the great Muhammad Ali three times.

RIP champ. You will forever be missed.

Sad to hear. He was a very likable guy. I remember the day of his fight vs Duane Bobick. There was a lot of people saying Bobick was going to win. I remember at school kids were talking about it and were excited. I was pumped too, except for one problem; the fight was on a school night. I somehow convinced my mom to let me stay up late to watch it. (The only time it ever worked.)
As most of us know, the fight was over in less than a minute! Great performance by Kenny.

Fine boxer, good person , & an amazing physical specimen!! Nobody looked like that in the heavyweight division. Well... Apollo Creed I guess.

Sad to hear this. I really liked watching him. He was part of a magical era. A time when the division was deep & everybody fought each other. Hard to believe he's gone after just watching one of his fights not long ago. Rest easy champ & thank you.
