What a terrible undercard.

The event tomorrow at the Copperbox is a far better line up. You`d think with it being pay per view they would make at least 4 decent fights.

Quigg should be ok, but there is nothing else on there. With the stable that Hearn has, he should be giving us better than this.

Aren't all of Haye's circus fight undercards uniformly terrible?

I think we have had this thread for everyone of his big fights.

When will people listen? HEARN IS NOT THE PROMOTER and he has shows around the time so he has only put Quigg on there all others are Booth or Hennessey fighters or even have links to Tyson Fury.
The main event by itself is PPV.

Especially as the main event will be over in a couple of rounds.

You don't have to buy. It's not PoD (Pay or Die).

I love boxing, so there is no chance that I will not buy it (I have already ordered it). Still, I think the undercard is pants.

The issue with the undercard is that the main event could quite easily be over inside a round.
Undercard is at least 2 good solid match ups short

I don't usually comment but feel so strongly too that the undercard is rubbish and half the fighters are still TBA, they know people will pay to watch the main event anyway.
Personally i hope Tyson Fury gets knocked out.
Better fights this weekend

Better than a Klitschko undercard, PPV cards now are mostly rubbish and sold on the main event alone.

We're almost lucky to have the Quigg fight included tbh

How much more do you think the Promotors would have made if they'd stacked the undercard ?
Answer is zero.
The alter ego is that the Promotor would have made less money had they done so.
Sooner or later people will wake up to the fact that boxing is foremost a business not a sport when we get to these levels.
Sadly the fans are mere pawns in a money making sausage machine.
Upset about it ?
Don't buy the PPV.
Hundreds of thousands will, to see the main event whether its 3 minutes or 36 minutes.

Don King is a genius of undercards, his fights are usually stacked with names vs names. Usually has a tasty heavyweight curiosity too, no matter what the main event.

I can remember the stacked cards of the 90's with Chavez, Ricardo Lopez and Julian Jackson - fantastic but boxing is not the same now; is King even active anymore at a high level?

i'm travelling from London for this (to support Haye) and am disappointed at the undercard but will make it a good night anyway. Will be good to see Jumah in action after the hype; good to see Luke Campbell out again before the hull show; Quigg will be a close fight and the usual Hughie Fury & Eubank Jr will be interesting to see if their fights are against tougher opposition, albeit unlikely. And of course Andy Lee.

Anyone know who Paddy Murphy is though? Still expect 2-3 more additions at lower round fights though, doors open at 6 and apparently ringwalk for the main fight is at 10.30 so may be tight.....

No, he's right. It's a main event show. Tickets sold incredibly quickly before a single undercard bout was announced and the ppv will do healthy business based purely on the headline fight. This is a contest to capture the mainstream audience - most of whom couldn't care less about the undercard. It's a clash of big personalities, world-class heavyweights with terrestrial TV exposure. Staging a better undercard (bear in mind they have Quigg-Salinas in a world title fight and Lee v Spada, both quality matches) would raise costs but would not cause a proportionate rise in sales of tickets or ppvs, and it certainly won't attract additional sponsors or advertisers. So, as a businessman, why do it?

That is a factor but it is easier to rationalise a £15 charge for watching a bout that may end inside 3 minutes if there are other interesting bouts as well - the boxing season is hard to negotiate in any event when there are others in the house who want to watch other things - that do not cost an extra £15.
