After watching my good friend Dean Croft make an impressive winning debut on the Carl Greaves show tonight, during the excellent Damo Jones's(10-0) fight, which he was winning easily, a full scale riot broke out between Leeds fans(Damo's) and Barnsley fans(virtually the rest of the reason. Claret everywhere. Fight abandoned and changed to a NC.

Luckily I had cleared off before the trouble started but the Leeds lot were a bunch of idiots no surprises it kicked off

Disgraceful

As punishment they should be made to fight each other on there own in the ring
#sorts out the men from the boys!

I've just got back from Barnsley police station. As I was filming the show, South Yorkshire police have taken my footage of the riot off me.

Yes..i was on undercard! That was bfc fans who came to the show after a play off defeat on a saturday night i think?

Did you film Crofty's fight? First one on? No world beater, but so fit and game. I was as pleased for him as I have been for almost any of my friends who have won because I know how hard he works. As for Damo... It's a nightmare because he is a very good kid, Domestic level at least.

that must have been it mate, can remember it kicking off badly in the bar area, i was with my missus of the time and she would never go to boxing again after that...so i got mesen a new mrs

Feel sorry for the boxers and Carl Greaves. Carl is a great man works really hard to put small shows on. The boxers train so hard. Football hooligans we don't want you at our shows stick to the terrace. Horrible twats.

Did you keep a copy? If not, were I in your shoes, I'd set about doing something about that ASAP. That footage potentially has a significant commercial value to you (or the rights owner, Carl?) right now. Turn a negative into a positive.

Im from York. Nothing to do with our lot. And I have been with thousands of Henry Wharton fans at far bigger fights, a lot harder men than them knobheads last night, and he has lost and never seen any of them cause trouble. They weren't boxing fans, they were pissed up football idiots. Felt sorry for Damo, a genuinely good prospect.
