I think he looks fairly decent myself considering it's his debut.

He looks fairly decent but...this is thesort of "late card" honour you have for an Olympic medal winner or an Amateur world champion, He was fighting a guy who was what, 1-38-3? He was supposed to look good...

Popular does not mean he can fight. A ticket seller and no more,imo, but its early days.

It's because he's a big ticket seller innit. They need to put him on late so a large part of the crowd doesnt fornicate off

Have to disagree with that. I was more impressed with him in that than I have with Buglioni to be honest.

Columbo that's what I meant though, what's he done to be a huge ticket seller? I don't follow the domestic amateur scene...has he been a multi-time ABA champion or something?

He sold 800 tickets mate. Buglioni will have done loads too

Anena would be dead for the mains if they went on early.

Don't think he was anything amazing as an amateur, good looking lad, friends of friends, good show will have helped, he's done brilliant to sell 700 though.

Ah ok I get ya! Sorry. Umm not that im aware of! Saying that though, Buglioni only got to the semi's of the ABA's and yet he shifts a ton of tickets! Im guessing they just have big families and a large amount of friends and so on.

Local faces I guess. Lots of mates, know the right people.

Very true, Bug is not going anywhere, he has no talent,imo.

It can depend on their dads too. Arnie, for example, got off to a good start with his fanbase because he was a popular lad and his dad knew a LOT of people and could move tickets like nobody's business.

ABA Novice champ and senior semi-finalist (lost to Tamuka Mucha). Popular lad with a crowd-pleasing style, much like Buglioni. That's what sells tickets, hence why Kevin Mitchell (for example) is a bigger draw than many fighters who have accomplished more.

It's a good show to be fair, Walsh-Murray was a good matchup, likewise the Mitchell Smith fight, Butler was in with another unbeaten fighter, Gavin in with a former British champion and Chisora in a European title fight. It's close to sold out, probably somewhere around 9,000 in which is good for a domestic show.

That's not really the point Danny's making, mate. The accomplishments in themselves don't mean much. It"s the style combined with popularity and simply knowing a lot of people (directly or indirectly).

Oh I agree. I was just saying that Mitchell's situation was a little different in that sense.

I dislike Warren but it's a FANTASTIC show...so why not start it 60 minutes earlier?

Gavin v Barnes was a mismatch on paper, Walsh v Murray and Gerber v Chisora were great B-sides...so why couldn't THEY sell tickets on the fact they were great fights?

Poor promoting.

It holds 7000 and I'm pretty sure its didn't sell out. Its not looked particularly full all night.

So...the actual match ups worth being match ups did shit?
Poor promoting and relying on ticket sellers...when will Warren learn that this doesn't work in this day and age...

The big match ups SHOULD have been good enough to tell sell tickets...he could have kept Kean's debut for his next show...

7,000 is without seats on the floor. It filled up, but some have left to make sure they make the last train.
