"Peter Fury has closed the door on Haye's offer & admitted the news is a massive blow to Team Fury who will now look at a new opponent when Tyson returns to the ring soon.

Looks like he is looking for any old excuse to get out of the fight, i think trying to imply haye cut himself on purpose is a bit sad. Fury was a hand picked opponent and it was the haye team that had to drag him into signing in the first place.

Rumor is that he was offered 30th november as a rescheduled date but has declined which is the closing the door on hayes offer part.

If this fight doesn't happen this year it is a crying bastard shame.

End of the day, that Haye cut is gona take a few months to heal properly, so they're going to need a fight for Fury in the meantime anyway. They're not gona say no to this again, end of the day where else are they gona go, what other fight are they going to do that will make them £5m and be on Sky Box Office. This will definitely happen next year in my opinion.

unfortunately i think fury will lose in that time. What are his options? Thompson, Arreola, stivern or the loser of wlad v povetkin so povetkin. I think he could well beat 2 or 3 of them but he could lose to all 4 as well.

It's completely absurd to imply Fury is ducking Haye. If Haye hadn't got cut would Tyson have feigned slipping on his shower cap the day of the fight? No, you silly folk.

He won't get a quarter of the payday fighting anyone else on the planet.

I can't believe that fury will get loads of stick for actually wanting to fight someone (and get paid) after 3 months of hard training away from home. The haye fight will prob happen later, due to the money involved, but not right now cos haye has a bad cut. It's that simple, no need for conspiracys.

Fury is a bell-end, but there's not a lot he can do at the moment. He should keep busy, and chases the Haye fight early next year. I can't see even Fury rejecting the big money that comes from a Haye fight, just because Haye got injured in training.

What'll probably happen is we'll get him fight some binman in Ireland on Channel 5 in the mean time, just so he can keep his 0.

He should fight Del Boy. I'd take Chisora to stop him.

There's not really anyone around the level of Haye that Tyson could box and earn the same; I imagine they are so frustrated, all that work gone and all that time spent away from home. Didn't Fury say something when the bout was signed along the lines of, 'I hope you turn up, don't blame your toe and drop out'. I was looking forward to next week and can understand why others, who have lost a fair bit of money - hotels, ticket fees etc are really fed up.

November 30th? I'm not having that Sky would have PPV on 2 consecutive Saturdays

But doesn't spin attempt to put a positive sheen on something negative; this cut is a disaster really for Haye (and Fury) and it shows how Hayes' public relationship has deteriorated. Do you really think that Haye either cut himself or allowed himself to be cut on purpose? To what end and what's to gain?

You know what, I think maybe he did. How many fighters pull out with cuts? Not many get cut a week before a fight and Haye isn't wet behind the ears. I know this has happened a few times over the years but Haye and Booth are consummate professionals and I don't believe this would be let to happen realistically. Having said that It has taken me 24 hours to come to this conclusion and I would like to see sparring footage to prove me wrong

He should fight Definately keep busy ASAP but finding an opponent maybe difficult. His early options will be a Tor Hamer, Alex Leipei or Manuel Charr.id prefer the latter

Put it on the Froch card as that is not deserving of PPV on its own

But to what end Spiker? What on earth would Haye gain from cutting his head open and pulling out of a big money (millions of £) fight? Do you really think he's that afraid of boxing Fury that he wanted to get out of it? Do you think his training camp had been lax and he weren't in the necessary condition to box well? Haye has shown plenty of bottle in the past and is in boxing to box for big money - paying out for sparring partners and other training costs must be expensive - why cost yourself money and then bollocks up the pay day?

I don't believe for one minute that Team Fury would turn down a rescheduled date for a bout with Haye.

Fighting Haye would bring Tyson his biggest payday to date & he isn't going to turn that down, especially if he really believes he can beat Haye.

I believe maybe a better offer may have come in or maybe training wasn't as good as we're made to believe. However Buncey said something last night that made me suspicious about a better offer on the table. Take it as you will

The only 'better' offer for Haye would be a straight shot at Vitali; which would probably be a PPV event and depend upon the very fans he'd jobbed. I thought I'd seen Haye been confident of victory over Fury and it was seen as a winnable fight for excellent money. I don't think Haye would cut himself and do himself out of a couple of million quid unless there were a cast iron guarantee (there are non in professional sport) of a mega fight.
