I thought it would have been a full house due to all the title fights and some of the under card being big ticket sellers

Probably a decent crowd that came and went after seeing their man. Cant see Liam Walsh fans, for instance, waiting around until midnight for the main event. I bet they did 5,000 but by the end there was probably about 2,500. I was losing the will to live myself and I was laid on the sofa sober as a judge. It ruined the main event for me. I was half asleep and couldn't focus on the fight properly. I had to put up a fight to stay awake. In fact, I put up more of a fight than David Barnes.

What was the Chudinov fight all about? It came smack in the middle of prime time viewing and seemed to suck all the atmosphere out of the broadcast that had been generated through the opening 3 fights (televised). Not helped of course being followed by the Gavin v Barnes snooze fest.

Same here. I nodded about round 5 and woke up again at 10.

It was obviously a case of who sells the most tickets, gets the highest placing on the bill.

It's hard to say because I was watching on a stream, but the capacity was a lot more than 7,000, that's the seats in the stands, add in seats on the floor and it's probably around 9,000.

The first timer may have been shifted forward because of the train times. His fans may have being getting antsy because they were in danger of missing the last train back to "THE LONDON BOROUGH OF IZZZZZLINNNNNNGTONNNNNN!".

The official running list for the night, published on the BN website beforehand, had Chisora on at 22:30 with Kean then Buglioni and then BJS v Ryder as "Follow On" bouts. There was no intention to have those fights earlier than 23:15, and would have been a lot later had Chisora not ended things early.

The fight that gets me most confused is the Chudinov one - instantly forgettable and should have been canned/shifted to the end.

The running order got me annoyed, why was Joe Murray vs Liam Walsh tucked away right at the start, I missed it, it must have been on about 6-7 ish which is just plain daft - decent matchup between 2 well-known British operators and I've missed it for what? Chudinov? Buglioni? Gavin vs Barnes? (which i switched over and watched Smith vs Ochieng which was an infinitely better scrap)

one of the worst fights i have ever seen and put me is a bad mood it was that bad

Decent crowd but hard to gauge exact number as punters were coming and going. I had to leave before the main event because the Buglioni fight didnt finish till about quarter past midnight. No good when you've travelled by train. Not sure the running order was particularly well put together.

But overall it was a top class bill. Shame about the messed up timings.

They did a similar thing to this at Wembley arena I missed Chisora because of it.

Copperbox show scheduling was strangest ive ever seen


Chisora v Gerber was only good fight,a lot of good match ups but none of them gelled,maybe Walsh/Murray but Gavin/Barnes,Butler/Gonzalez,Smith/Moises were crap to watch,Chudinov/Maxwell was pointless in the middle of the bill,Buglionis stoppage over Kubin was premature,even the Saunders/Ryder fight as intriguing as it was,was pretty shit in all honesty

If they have done around 5000 at the venue they have done well imo.They will fill it in time with the right fight.It`s a good size venue and looks perfect for boxing

I get the impression the allegedly crew have pretty much held their hands up and acknowledged the schedule was jacked up. In mitigation, they've had a tough week. Credit where credit's due, that was a bumper card.

I hope Frankie is never matched against a counter puncher again. When guys are coming at him, he's a joy to watch, when they're not it's hard going.

Hell of a bill on paper some people may have thought it was a let down, but I expect some special British boxing nights at the copper box.

I agree,cracking matcmaking on paper but with the scheduling and the clash of styles involving most fights made for quite a poor spectacle

Promoter needs to make sure running orders work well but they cant do nowt about clashing styles

Don't know. I watched his previous outing at Bowlers against, I think (can't be arsed checking), William Warburton. He was extremely lacklustre then too, just went through the motions.

His trainer asked him if it was broken he said no, then he said why the hell ain't you throwing it then.

Barnes was really poor, ever get the feeling his heart isn't in it! Just looks like he's come back for a few more paydays based on previous successes, cos that was one of the lamest attempts (if that's what you can call it) to win a British title I've ever seen.
