Boxrec broke this story before anyone, and I mean anyone. Now the rest are following like sheep.

Great scoop bennie - so the worst is true. Poor guy, but he'll realise he's had a lucky escape there. Real shame - he should become a trainer and stay in the game, something like that.

Jack "Quarry" Mesi is still denying it, but Thomas Hauser is, well, Thomas Hauser. I know who I believe.
Not my scoop, MW. One of our esteemed posters tipped me off.

confirmed isn't the right word, but certainly the rumours have more substance. Hmm, people contradicting each other, i guess it wont be long until we know the truth.

Well, I don't know the relevance but ITV teletext is saying that Freddie Roach is back with Tyson and wants Mesi in July.

Don't be fooled by all the 'fillers' as they're known in the trade. Mesi is laid up.

yeah, but nothing is certain at the moment...Mesi's dad is strongley denying the rumours...is he covering up? emotions getting the better of him and being optimistic? or is he right?

like i say i dont doubt the rumour, seems very strong and you trust your source. Noting is 'confirmed' yet

Jack Quarry, the father of white heavyweight prospect Jerry, had a notorious blind spot when it came to his son. He once made him fight Jimmy Ellis in a 15-rounder with a broken back. He also chucked Mike Quarry in with Bob Foster and nearly got him killed on 'live' TV.
Both brothers ended up punchy.
Jack Mesi seems to have the same blind spot with Joe.

ok, thanks for that info. you are probably right, and it is best to trust unbiased, independent sources like the one you are getting the info from, and Thomas Hauser who is VERY well respected, and as you say revealed the whole Barrera thing.

Run with the story, Adam. Hauser has covered himself with the "it is believed" intro; do something similar and there'll be no come back.

Is a great shame.

I'm wondering if they are just going to get 101 tests until 1 doctor in Botswana gives him the all clear and he fights on?

We should try to get the fact that Boxrec broke it first (in the world) printed in Claudes column in this weeks BN
