playing perishingly safe with this novice italian cruiser who's had three fights with Sandor Baloch

lets hope Joshua can bring some power into the pro ranks.

A step up from Sandor then and a winning record. Not the worst debut opponent. Looking forward to seeing him in the pros.

Leo is a crafty cat and may pose problems for Big Josh.

Most definately one could say that Sandor Bollock is an easy touch and there is no need to fight the guy three times, but note that he went the distance on each occassion.

I predict a one round blowout due to the ref stopping it as soon as three unanswered punches land. Most definately.

Whatever the reult I`d venture a guess that Richard "The secret" Williams has partial blame.

Did anyone notice that Sandor Balogh record improved by the 3rd time they met? If it is the same guy its almost like he wiped his previous record and started again! Weird one that......

Yes, Joshua's opponents start getting from day one!

Lets hope this can continue, if he doesn't fight someone top 10 by the end of the year...

I was felt Sandor Baloch was overrated, especially when she won the oscar for the blind side

Guys, Anthony Joshua is a baby in the sport. He looks like the black Hercules but he's raw. Rushing him would be stupid. Emanuele Leo is a decent début opponent.

Boxing someone who is 8-0 on your debut is potentially a bit of a risk , ive not seen the guy box so i cant judge him but his record doesnt really tell us much either .

Only watched the first round...
Easy to hit + No power + poor footwork + lazy jab + out of shape physically = 1st rd KO win to Anthony Joshua .

Looks good match making by getting him in and winning against an 8-0 guy (assuming he does win) but my fear is that people could , and probably will, get over excited too quickly .

He will be getting hailed as the next Ali after his first half a dozen pro fights .

and then in typical british olympian style get flattened when he steps up .

I had issues with a 'Balogh' in the past at a show in the Midlands area. There were 2 individuals with the exact same name from Hungary but one was older. I wonder if it was this guy. I'm not near a PC but I may have a look later

No British Olympic gold medallist has won a world title professionally and I expect that he will continue that tradition.

Upon further analysis (based on their respective weights for fights during the same month) it appears as if the two 'Sandor Baloghs' are indeed different boxers. I recall that the Cruiserweight got stopped by Chris Keane in the 'Midlands' area (Burton on Trent falls under the Midlands Area Council)

Yeah looking at the weights and nicknames it's almost certainly the two Sandor's are different blokes....uncanny though...

Is Joshua fighting a 6 rounder on his debut like Campbell and Ogogo?

I'm hoping that Joshua's relatively novice record in terms of quantity of fights will actually help him as he moves through the pro ranks. Ok so he is raw but he shouldn't find it quite as hard to adjust to the differences between the different forms, and shouldn't continue with to many bad habits.

It's going to take time and i imagine Matchroom may even take the Deontay approach for a period of time (albeit hopefully not as long) but theres hope he will get there.

Anybody to even make it to the Olympics off the back of his experience must have some sensational talent, let alone winning the thing.

Indeed. A fact that escapes many of the posters who have been criticising Joshua since London 2012. The fact he was even competitive with Cammarelle, let alone took a tight decision, marks him as a real talent.

patience will be our virtue here. if he moves to british titles by 20 fights i'll be happy so long as he's in proper learning fights. rounds not ko's will be vital.
