1. Cus D'Amato passing away. ------ Cus passed away back in November, 1985 (RIP). Clearly, this wasn't a case of a change of management. This was a case of an "absolute". By this "absolute", it was a person passing away, nothing could have been done about it.


Do you think that the passing of Cus back in November, 1985 greatly affected Mike years after?


Do you think that the passing of Cus lead to Mike having personal troubles years later?



Do you think that the passing of Cus lead to Mike having troubles with his professional boxing career years later?

2. Late, 1988. ----- When Mike Tyson got rid of manager Bill Cayton. ------


Do you think that Mike doing this, lead to Mike having personal troubles years later?



Do you think that Mike doing this, lead to Mike having troubles with his professional boxing career years later?



Had Mike kept Bill Cayton, that quite possibly, could Bill have kept Mike mentally grounded?




3. Late, 1988. ----- When Mike Tyson got rid of trainer Kevin Rooney. -----


Do you think that Mike doing this, lead to Mike having personal troubles years later?



Do you think that Mike doing this, lead to Mike having troubles with his professional boxing career years later?



Had Mike kept Kevin, that quite possibly, could Kevin have kept Mike mentally grounded?

I don't know that anybody would've been able to keep him completely on the rails once he started being the biggest thing around, but I do believe Cus D'Amato would've had as much positive influence on him as anybody, and he's somebody that Mike respected greatly and I feel like would've listened to more than most.

Mike had personal troubles when he was with Cus, he always had them. Cus didn't discipline him.

I think Mike genuinely loved Cus, so I'd say yes that his death affected him emotionally years later. No to the other two.

No to all of these.

It is a bit surprising that no one has mentioned the passing of Jimmy Jacobs as a factor in what happened with Tyson's career.

From all accounts I've read, Tyson had respect for Jacobs.

From all accounts I've read, Tyson had respect for Jacobs.

Ultimately I don't think anybody even Cus, was going to have him from himself when the money and all the excess that comes with it came into his life, but I think they could've kept him grounded just a little bit better than the people around him did.

Mike had personal troubles when he was with Cus, he always had them. Cus didn't discipline him.

Tyson was continually getting into trouble at school for harassing his female school mates. Cus covered for him. He also threw Teddy Atlas out of the camp for confronting Tyson with a gun when Tyson tried to sexually assault his twelve ???, thirteen ??? year old niece. I read where Tyson and Atlas recently made up and Tyson apologized.

I try to see the good in everybody. At least Tyson shows remorse now for some of his antics.

Honestly, Tyson did it all to himself by getting rid of Clayton and Rooney.

Tyson knew Cus was going to pass away short into his career. Tyson was prepared.

And yes, it would have made a big difference if Tyson made the right decisions by keeping Clayton and Rooney.

And honestly, Teddy Atlas could have been the best thing for Tyson. Someone who tried to make him mentally strong by disciplining him. Not take cuts off his pay checks like Clayton and Jacobs or use him for self satisfaction like Cus. And he would have never spoiled Tyson like Cus did.

As I said they made up recently.

I'm all about Mike now, he owned it when he was an asshole and I have no doubt his attempts at change are real. The stuff with him and Evander last week was awesome. I'm just not going to make excuses for him career wise. His low RING IQ was there with any trainer.
