Has this fight been agreed? I thought it was all set to go ahead on 7th December, but just looking at the schedule Alexander is down to fight Zab Judah on the same date on the Malignaggi v Porter bill.

Theres been talk of khan withdrawing and waiting for a floyd fight

The money is in the American PPV market I would have thought?

It'd be a big fight here but I can't see it doing numbers that make it financially viable, neither Khan or Mayweather are big enough stars here to pull the kind of numbers they'd need in my opinion.

It'd be a big fight here but I can't see it doing numbers that make it financially viable, neither Khan or Mayweather are big enough stars here to pull the kind of numbers they'd need in my opinion.

They have done ppv's here before and did it to us time and so very early morning fights here and surly the US PPV and UK PPV would make alot of money

Yeah, they did Calzaghe/Lacy at about 1.30/2am, but do you think the ppv would sell that well here? I imagine it'll sell as well as it will at 4.30/5am and worse in the US where they charge a fair bit more than us.

Maybe they are looking for a KO after all the criticism Floyd gets from some quarters for being boring.

Read a few things by a few american journalists saying they think it will be khn because no-one will buy a floyd ppv in america because they dont think anyone can beat him but think the brit public would buy to see amir win/lose against floyd and make a decent amount

And for Amir to be withdrawn from the Alexander fight... seriously, has there ever in history been a more protected, connected fighter than Amir Khan? His career really is something else.

At least Amir will suffer the rare indignity of being knocked down and out by Floyd Mayweather's piss-weak punches.

Floyd isn't a piss-weak puncher, if he was, people would walk through his shoulder rolls, he hits hard enough to deter people from just rushing him, look at the hook he landed against Oscar in their fight, rattled his cage big time, and Oscar had one of the best chins I've ever seen.

Or maybe Oscar, at 35 and with 1 fight in 2 and a half years, just wasn't that match-fit.

When you have to point to one of the many men Floyd didn't even knockdown let alone stop to evidence his punch power... well, it says it all.

Styles make fights and I reckon this one could be quite competitive till Khan gets sparked clean out.

Let's be honest, the Khan that fought Julio Diaz would/ will get obliterated against Floyd. For all his defensive flaws the Khan pre Hunter was more effective than what Hunter is trying to do with him which is turn him into a more patient fighter of the Ward kind of ilk. The problem is it doesnt suit Khans mentality and gung ho approach.

FFS - Oscar's never been off his feet aside from the Hopkins fight and that was a body shot, against a middleweight. A horrifically weight drained Oscar was battered all over the ring by Pacquaio in their fight without once going down - so it's hardly surprising Floyd couldn't stop him is it?

I'm not saying Floyd is a power puncher, I'm saying his punches are not 'piss-weak.'

Malignaggi is a piss weak puncher - not Floyd.

Only one thing will prevent mayweather from stopping khan and thats if he hurts his hands from connecting so clean and so often on khans chin.

I notice the Khan Mayweather fight is no longer listed on the schedule. Floyd's next fight is a long way off, I wouldn't be surprised if they wait to see if Pac looks anywhere near viable against Rios.
