Oh yes - All three of his world title fights in Japan were on TV.

He was a victim of bad and terrible decisions against Japanese world champions that fought him in Japan. Panama would have had another world champion in their list if those fights were in another site of the world. In those days, especially in Japan and South Korea, you had to kill your opponent in order to get a win. I learned that years after when the great Roy Jones, Jr was robbed without a doubt in the '88 Seoul Games.

Frankly I have no problem with scoring of this fight.'
If I score by modern rules and try hard to find a winner in every round I get to 145-141 Kobayashi. There is one round that I cannot decide and it can go both ways if you have to have a winner of each round, but it will make no difference to who I think won.
If I score by a 5 point must system allowing for draws in very close rounds (as they did at that time) I have it 71-69 Kobayashi.
Kabayashi was handicapped by a severe cut on his left eye from the dying seconds of round 10.
So my decision is: Close, but no robbery. (Despite all japanese officials)
