Richard Dawson post Flintoff fight

Don't often post on here but i randomly searched for Richard Dawson to see if he has done anything since the Flintoff fight and it turns out he has racked up 2 more wins and is now 4-1 with a UD win over a guy called Ty Cobb. Cobb was 16-3 before his fight with Dawson with his only losses coming to Chazz Witherspoon, Deontay Wilder and a SD to some nobody.

So surely Dawson must have been paid to lose to Flintoff? either that or the talent pool in Boxing is extremely shallow and Flintoff could actually have a pretty successful career from Boxing if he wanted. I know which theory i believe.

Whatever happened, I believe that Flintoff went into that fight believing it was straight-up.

I bet on Flintoff fully expecting him to be gifted a win. You don't have to go all the way to America to get a debut opponent. The heavyweight journeymen of England would gladly have taken it, or Cruiser, but every one of them would have sparked him. It was rigged to death, but as Macho says, I don't think Freddie was in on it.

He only threw one punch and that decked Flintoff.

I think he was handsomely paid to come over and lose. Flintoff was useless.

flintoff was lucky to get the decison even though the other guy wasn't boxing offensively -Flintoff was offensive in a number of ways!

Incrediby, Dawson's only loss is to Flintoff.

I think you're all missing the most important point here.

The guy he fought after Flintoff was 27 stone 2 pounds and is called Dakota Beaver :o

Check out Ty Cobb though who's only losses come to Chazz Witherspoon & Deontay Wilder & another guy early in his career by split decision.

I think it's fairly obvious that Dawson was paid a large amount of cash to throw the fight. Check out Dawson's lack of activity throughout the fight, he knocks Flintoff down and then looks at him like oops i didn't mean to do that and when Flintoff gets up doesn't go for the finish but rather leans against the ropes and lets Freddie go to work.

Yup, don't worry I know who Ty Cobb is and I think you make a good point.

I'm just disturbed by the existence of a 27 Stone man named Dakota Beaver.

Crap fighters can win a few fights on the bounce, the trick is to face crapper opponents. If deliberate its called good match-making, otherwise it can be pure luck. Just how much money would it take to pay off the guy to the extend he doesn't go and open his mouth later ? Its easier to just hire an opponent who's crap enough to lose to Flintoff, which is what happened....

Pretty much.

Some people on this forum just hated the fact that Flintoff had one fight so much, that they are trying to discredit it in any way they can.
