I in the past regret saying some things about Bruce in earlier posts. Seeing now how much attention he has given people like Johnny Greaves and other boxers (the little guys of our sport) and being at the small hall shows ect shows how warm hearted he is. I have changed my oppnion. You can tell his a big fan of boxing as well as a reporter. Both he and Ifilm are both a credit to boxing!

I still think he's a prick but that's just my opinion. Regarding the Ifilm interview he just did. He was pretty bloody patronising in it to be honest.

Bunce is a top man and a refreshing elixir to the boring safe on-the-fence middle class home counties white boys that are far to prevalent in the boxing media!
More Buncesques please!

I'm a very big fan of him.
I have to say, I've cringed in recent months on the many occasions he's shown his seething hatred of sections of the online community. He gets so angry, he seems to struggle to contain the bile. Its a shame, he doesn't need to lower himself to that level. He is a professional, a bloody good one. They have obviously got right under his skin.

Bunce makes watching the fight preview and analysis funny and enjoyable. Sky read from a script or sit on the fence.

I am a fan of Bunce; I asked him how James Branch and Shaun Gray were doing a few years ago and he both knew who they were (it was at least 15 years since either had boxed amateur), how they were doing and as important - he let me know.
It's a shame that he doesn't come on here anymore; I recognise he could be prickly and would be agitated pretty easily but there seemed to be a fair amount of jealousy by posters who would have liked to be in his position. The man has paid his dues, knows his stuff and is enthusiastic about the sport - he has a boss who pays his bills and so isn't in a position to 'spill all the beans' but I reckon if he won the lottery he'd do pretty much the same but would be able to be more objective.

I thought his write-up in BM about Dean Powell was genuinely moving and a lovely tribute, and no-one can dispute his love of the sport. However, his hypocrisy and hubris are huge character flaws that make it difficult to warm to him. His disparaging remarks about online users are indicative of that (and let's be clear, he didn't distinguish between the 'trolls' and the rest of us), while his claim to 'tell it like it is' is laughable given it's so patently undermined by his ties to a certain promoter.

That has come across loud and clear. I sit at home and tell myself he doesn't mean me
There's a lot of genuine boxing fans who come on these forums, who he lumps in with the twats who wound him up and forced him into exile, when he makes those sweeping statements. I have got the feeling that the twats have left him absolutely furious, for a prolonged period of time.
Every sport or indeed any pursuit in life probably has a forum culture and where there are forums, there are twats. I'm sure you wouldn't get Gary Lineker on Match Of The Day saying "well done to West Brom for upsetting Man United, that's shut up a few internet experts".
Anyway I'm a big Bunce fan and he should realise not everyone on the forums are against him. I suggest a subtle visual freemasons style body language gestures from steve if he wants to let the great forum masses know he loves them right back. Two rubs of the left ear, touch the tip of his nose as his hand moves away, blink twice.... job done

He wound himself up when ordinary posters (not twats) questioned some of his opinions.
Then he crawled off sulking.

I like Steve, great knowledge but he comes out with the occasional howler. The last ones that springs to mind was saying he wished Mayweather would "take more risks". He also thinks Khan deserves his shot at PBF. Obviously I disagree with both.

His knowledge of BRITISH boxing is great and can't really be questions, sadly on the international front he seem a bit, lacking. The comments him and Lillis have made about Narvaez not leaving Argentina for example.
I think his probably is that he knows he's marmite and plays to it, some will love his "characters" whilst others won't.
I also wonder if their is a north/south divide on him with southerners liking him more than northerners.

Trust me, back in the day, he was great.
What I like best is that he never name drops.
