Cheers Johnny good little scrap.

All the best for the future mate if you do train a stable of journeymen it would mean they would come to entertain which is good for the game!

Great job Johnny!

On a side note, in bouts judged solely by a referee, is the referee no longer supposed to raise the winner's hand immediately after the final bell? I haven't seen it in a while.

My mate made his debut over four rounds recently and the fight was scored by judges.

It was changed last year, the referee now has to wait until the announcer gives out the result before raising the winners hand ( or hand in case of a draw)

Sometimes happens if there's a title fight on the bill. Who's your mate?

Iv never heard of this you sure it wasnt a trialist ref and a ref utside the ring scored the bout? Simple way to check whos yr mate take a nose on boxrec and see who judged but id be very surprised if four rounder was judged by three judges

if it was a trialist referee, he wont score the fight as it is, but he will hand his score in, then an outside judge will tell him the result, ,

Yes, you're all right. The ref scored it on his own. But he did let them go back to the corner and then brought them together whilst the mc announced it. I just never noticed he only read out one score. Dean Croft.
