Stopped a losing record journeyman with a bad arm then strutted around telling us he was the best British prospect. I am maybe being bitchy but i see little from him yet to suggest so...he comes across as a little cockney wide boy. Mum as manager, talking on his phone after the fight, apples and pears etc I have a feeling if he builds up a hometown following he will be the next Ricky Hatton. Anyone seen something we should know about from him?

I don't know why Sky insult us by showing Mitchell in mismatches. That wasn't boxing tonight. Boxing is about two guys evenly-matched going at it. I couldn't believe they screened that.

Macklin looked ok but Dixon was surprisingly poor, Billy Graham is a great trainer and has done a good job. Macklin would have been given problems though had the fight carried on, he looked knackered to me at the end and was still breathing heavily during the interview. I think as much as he has improved he is just another defeat waiting to happen.

Yeah, I don't think Macklin's going to make it. He's too slow.

He is only 19 and looked like he had some skills if a bit eager. I think he has a potential to be up there in 5 or 6 years time.

He seems to have the punching power but how good is his chin?

It better be good, because he's not too bothered about a defence at the moment. He looks a great prospect, but they need to put him in with someone who can actualy fight back once in awhile.

Yeah, just building his already over-inflated ego (remind you of a certain super-featherweight? ). I couldn't believe he was calling himself the best prospect in the world after that 'fight'

He had a wide open defense but could get away with it because his 'opponent' wouldn't fight back. Would be interesting to see someone who would put him on the back foot, or out-muscle him.

For some reason I don't think he'll be able to take a really heavy shot. His neck is too long, making his chin easier to hit. If he had a tight defense this wouldn't matter, but he doesn't. And if allegedly has any brains he will feed him stiffs for a long time to come, as this young 'prospect' would be sparko in under 3 against a quality banger at the present.

I hope they are careful with Mitchell (but not too careful), I worry about his ego - however, he looked like the best prospect in the UK for me. You can't develop hand speed that much, and he's got it in abudance.

Certainly the better of the two young Kevin's.

Will ceratinly look forward to seeing Mitchell fight somebody other than a punchbag who lets him unload freely and without care. I know it's early doors but these guys are just letting him beat them up.

Ok so who should we be seeing in with him next or perhaps in a few fights time? And who or what title should he be aiming for long term? Let's get some ideas running...he fought as Super Featherweight on Saturday so perhaps Peter Buckley could extend him a few rounds?

If so then I would tend to agree world prospect well thats a stupid question / comment to make .

Mitchell appears to lack character (and intelligence) and genuinely believe he's "something special".

He'll get the fright of his life sooner or later when the guy in front of him actually hits back.....

i quite like him, he a little chirpy cockney character, I keep expecting him to burst into song "consider yourself alllwight"

all down to taste tho I guess.

Yeah, he sort of reminded me of Dennis Wise, not in looks but his nature.

in seriousness he is only a lkid at 19, he has a lot to learn and he looks talented, we cant expect everyone to have old heads on young shoulders and at present he is doing well.

I loved the way he needled the frenchman b4 the bout. Quality.

He's undoubtedly quite talented, but I much prefer seeing people of his age with a level, modest head on their shoulders and surrounded by the right people. It implies composure.

Thats why its a bit "worrying" to see him scowling about the ring etc like he is the baddest motherf**ker we've yet to see....

I hope he does well.

But lets see how he pans out, may make for some interesting nights in the future!

and if he doesnt do so well he can aleways go back to playing the artful dodger at the Paladium
