the declining quality of weigh-ins

who - and for what purpose - is making these domestic boxers go through these cringeworthy weigh-ins I've seen lately? I was watching Luke Campbell and Neil Hepper (who did it right, handshake, respect etc) and I've just watched Derry Matthews and Tommy Coyle weigh-in (fight was a while ago), which was a bit different.
This isn't a gripe about any of the boxers by the way. The filming seems to have been done by iFilm and I believe Eddie Hearn is the promoter - but who's making them do all this "one fist each"...."face to face"...etc? And how long do they need to take a photograph? Matthews and Coyle were stood touching each others noses for what seemed like forever - who wants to go through/ see that? I always thought these things were a bit more off-the-cuff but these days it seems like there's a set menu and it looks ridiculous.
Also - who's buying all these pics? you don't often see them in local rags or boxing magazines, as they tend to go for action shots when doing write ups. If Obama steps off a plane and Cameron greets him, they'll face the cameras for 10-15 seconds and that's the US president and the Primeminister. So why do boxers need to pose awkwardly for 2 full minutes? Also -in the Matthews Coyle one, they both had clothes on so it wasn't even the actual weigh-in....just go to Youtube if you want to know what I'm talking about.
