does anyone know whats going on with hatton promotions as they announced some sort of tv deal last year where his lads would fight on warren shows or co promoted shows but since this ive seen nothing and martin murray has said he has no option but to fight in Australia? also towers v browne is on a sky show? I don't think ricky has enough top level fighters left to put on a decent show but surely they could fight on one of the shows allegedly have coming up before xmas? cheers

I think the announcement was a load of sxxxe.
I can't speak for Hatton but the other party to the deal is practically addicted to rushing out announcements, and announcing shows, before all parties have agreed. He's done it time and time again since launching his TV channel.
We were led to believe that promoter Hatton would be staging regular UK shows that BN would televise. The lack of shows leads me to believe that after the announcements, when both parties sat down to discuss the small print, the amount of money on offer to Hatton to buy the TV rights was a bit of a shocker. Ricky was in a position, prior to the BN deal announcement, whereby he would lose a small fortune everytime he put on a promotion, after Sky had kicked him into touch.
If BN were putting up enough money to allow Ricky to break even, I am sure he'd have lined up a few shows by now, to keep his stable active and throw his cap back into the ring as a promoter.
From the TV channel's point of view, the costs of purely televising a show (by sending a crew to the venue to shoot it, edit in real time, and transmit it live) runs into the tens of thousands. I can see why the TV channel owner would not want to fork out further tens of thousands to the show's promoter for the rights - especially when he knows that promoter is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Wasn't Frank Moloney promotions part of the deal too ? So apart from McGuigan and Frampton that looks dead now

Gary Buckland v Stephen Smith is the only one I can think of.

Hatton sat with and posed for pictures with Warren at the press conference announcing it - so if he did that before finalising all the terms and conditions of the deal, he's pretty naive. It looks pretty bad on everybody's part - all these big statements and then no action in 4 months.
OK, he was left in the soft and smelly when Sky pulled out on him (which I thought was pretty harsh given his stable at that time), but if he was serious about promoting he'd have either sourced a genuine alternative TV deal, or failing that, stripped back and gone down the non-TV route. Guys like Coldwell and Goodwin seem to be doing a pretty good job of it at a lower level.
My guess is his plan was to simply come out of retirement and get his stable a deal through his own fights. When that went kaput he was left in trouble.
