Dean Halsall's definitely from Preston, was a feature on him in the paper a few months ago, think he trains with Karl Ince in Bolton now.

Thought so, would be good if they could get a show on in Preston. There's Matty Clarkson, Mick Hall, Dean Halsall and Chris Johnson, Liam Conroy trains with Johnney Roye and I'm sure a few other fighters from around the North West could be added on. Would just be a case of finding a suitable venue.

How much is the Guild Hall? I was at Frank's show there when Mick Jennings fought Bradley Pryce. Good venue.

What happened to Rik Turba? I think he worked doors in Blackpool, right or wrong? Has he gone back to Slovakia or is he still knocking about? Blokes who sparred him reckoned he had bombs in them there fists.

I've heard the Guild Hall is expensive as well, seems most acts are priced out judging by the £1 million pound yearly losses. Paul Weller was on last night, but last week they were offering some play called the vagina monologues, which shows the standard at the Guild Hall right now. The council are in a right mess, they still want to knock the bus station down, despite it now being a listed building, they've had an offer from a developer and turned it down, they over estimated the figures of a refurd by millions. They also want to sell off or knock the Guild Hall down, leaving 53 degrees as the biggest venue in the city at 1,500. They really are thick, I mean, who would seriously build a ringway, right through the city centre?

there's Adam Little as well hes a good fighter trained by Ricky Hatton

TBH the boys from my hometown of Preston aren't that good imo,I think Scott FItzgerald is a top prospect in the amateurs who won the ABAs, I look forward to seeing him as a pro.

Reason for the downturn (which i predicted) is there was a great amateur trainer from Blackpool called Andy Sumner whose now at Pool of Life in Atherton. He brought through Roy Finlay, Ashley Delaney, Gav Nichols, myself, Curtis Dean, Ashley Dean, Brian Rose, Mitch Rose, jack Arnfield, Matty Askin, and others. Sadly when he moved there was no one really to take over at the time. Blackpool Kingscote is a good little club but they are sort of stuck at regional level at the moment. Kirkham have had good and bad seasons in recent years but there are still some really good lads there. Bill Hodgson is turning over soon and he looks capable.

I think with the increase in other forms of boxing and also MMA there isn't quite the same turnover of young boxers anymore. That said I've got some great young lads up at Fleetwood now, Alex McCloy is going to do extremely well and I have a national finalist called Daniel Catlin who also could be really good. Couple of others have real potential too.

Slight hijack. I got dragged to the Arts Theatre in 2001 in London by an ex-girlfriend to watch the Vagina Monologues as I was about to go abroad for several months and she thought it was only right that I treated her to a nice night out in the West End. Thankfully Sophie Dahl was one of the three actresses in the play and the first three or four powerwanks of my tour were sourced from my memory of her in that play. I was one of no more than about thirty blokes in the entire theatre.

I'm not sure mate to be honest lost touch a good while ago. He was a good fighter though, and I always got on with him so hope that's the case.

Matty Clarkson is probably the best of the bunch, might be able to win a British title if he's moved properly, Halsall and Hall are at area level. Fitzgerald has just gone back to the GB development squad after winning the ABAs, hopefully he can have a good run in some international tournaments, then turn pro, unless he fancies the Olympics, but he'd be 24 by the time Rio comes around and if he didn't qualify it would mean a lot of wasted time that could have been spent learning his trade in the pros.

I didn't catch his most recent outing but I did see his three other fights in Manchester. I've asked around in the past and it seems he's one of those lads who can't currently justify going full-time. I might be slightly out here but it's something along the lines of having a young family, mortgage and decent enough job and reasoning that it would not be feasible to risk taking a chance without at least having some very solid sponsorship in place.

If he keeps doing what he's doing and Coldwell matches him right, it's perfectly possible he may be able to find himself with a shot at the British title down the line, maybe then he'll be able to take a sabbatical and give 100% to his boxing for a few months and see how things pan out.

Don't think any of those could be used for boxing unfortunately, 53 can hold 1,500, but that's with standing for concerts. Maybe a leisure centre would have to do for a show here.

Adam a good fighter he boxed my lad over 6 and he has a good boxing brain and sticks to orders I found, think he has hand injury but Ricky is doin a good job with him from what I seen

Yea Scott is defo a future prospect from Preston he has had 2 controversial decisions over Jack Cullen from Bolton thou from what I was told, Bolton is a little hotbed problem is many lads throw away their talent!!
