Sugar Ray...Even though I liked him, I have never trusted Donald Curry's chin. Leonard by TKO.

Jun-Sok Hwang floored the multi-talented, but somewhat weak Curry, and Leonard would do the same, only more pronounced.Leonard kayoes Curry in five rounds.

Leonard by close UD. I doubt very much he'd be KOing a prime Don Curry. Curry these days is often viewed as the 154 pounder he flopped at rather than the incredible fighting machine he was, at 147 before '86

Before '86 he was dropped by a Korean in his first title fight.

True. But we hadn't see anywhere near the best of Curry around 1983. If a single KD can be held against him then Leonard losing to a lightweight must also come into the equation?

Didn't curry try & sue Leonard for advising him against facing mcallum & hagler then took on hagler himself.
& when mcallum faced curry & got ktfo he refused to have srl on the commentary anyone remembrer this ??

Yep, all true. Unfortunately I don't think the suing thing ended up going anywhere. Leonard's need to manipulate and control every facet of every situation remotely involving Ray Leonard, was truly amazing and not in a good way. Pure arsehole

Leonard conducts himself in great fashion!
I'd struggle to believe he's a bumhole

He beat his wife while he neglected his kid. Everyone has flaws, but he's far from the saint he was depicted as on TV.

Not to mention he forced himself on that old man when he was a teenager.

Forgive me for reading between the lines when one of the greatest boxers of all time says a 60 year old abused him when he was 16 by forcing Ray's dick into his mouth.

Oh, that pile of "me me me" BS
Some years ago he was down here for some red carpet function and as he was walking along some news dude asked him his opinion on who the best boxer in the world was. You'd think he would have said "Floyd Mayweather" or "Manny Pacquaio" but no, he said "Ray Leonard Jnr"
But anyhow, Don Curry is the best fighter of the past 30 years* that had the shortest prime

The guy was probably extorting him. Who knows, that definitely wasn't abuse. He got head from a man because he wanted to.
I can never condone putting your hands on a woman, but I have friends, family and my own favorites that have done the same. I've done more Coke than he's ever seen. The stuff with his son pisses me off because of all the commercials Ray had him in when he was a little guy pretending he was the all american Dad.

Considering Curry doesn't fight like anything Duran, no.
What sort of inane, low brow logic is that?

Leonard by mid rounds TKO in a good fight.

Ray should have admitted to it all...looking at how much money Mayweather makes it makes you more popular...
Leonard wins this one. He was faster of foot than Don and had to win big in fights where he was on the receiving end. Curry not as proven. But a real top fighter.

Sugar Ray lost to a lightweight, yes, a great lightweight. Probably the greatest lightweight ever. He lost to the greatest fighter of the last 50 years IMO.
Curry's chin was not up to par. The great Mike McCallum did proved that.

This is what I meant earlier about Curry being mainly remembered for what happened in 1986 and beyond. It's a bit of a shame

Was there no call for these fighters to compete??
Had all the ingredients or did mcallum scrap the plans??
I think srl's fluidity movement & variety would of halted curry in 8-9 rds
