Depends on how Provodnikov is after the Bradley fight.

It's staggering that he was at 140 before taking the Bradley fight. This will be brutal.

Yeah - this has mental shootout potential; Alvarado isn't afraid of a fight and Provodnikov certainly comes for a fight. I'm not sure how strong Prov will be back at lightwelter; he was a tank v Bradley but 7 lbs can show in a tough bout, Alvarez looked good v Rios 2; I'm not betting on this one (but if pressed I'll go for Prov).

What surprised me watching the HBO 'cast is that Roach was ready for pulling him out several times.

I think it's a 50/50 fight as Alvarado whilst game as hell does not really have a huge amount of boxing ability, or rather, the ability (or desire) to adjust. It'll be bombs away for as long as it lasts. I can see Alvarado getting busted up late but Prov's face was a mess in his last fight too.

They will just stand and slug.

Alvarado won Rios 2 fairly handily when he boxed and moved after almost getting done again in the second , he's a hard hitter too but he's proven he can be overwhelmed under heavy fire which a solid chinned Provo will bring.

That's rather disparaging of Rios's 30 wins, it's one thing boxing him and it's another having the poke to keep him at bay + 2-3 fights is optimistic .

This one is a great matchup. Been trying to find a winner for the last week. I got a feeling that Prov may just get it by way of stoppage, possibly cuts. Really looking forward to watching it though.

Unless the weight is an issue, I'm not sure what he normally weighs, Prov looks a beast. He'll be a nightmare to face & has an iron chin.

Cracking main event, but unbelievably poor undercard. Apparently HBO in the States are only showing the main event and are having a Braldey-JMM replay on instead of the undercard

Presumably top rank tv will show the under card.

I'm going for provnikov to get ontop of him 8-9 rds going to be brutal with alvarados strength being sapped from him & slowly getting bludgeoned by prov into submission with ref rescuing him with women screaming it's going to be one of them occasions

Many Steward, god rest him, would probably point to Provodnikov's high ridgebone on his cheeks. kinda dude who when he swells up can go half-blind really quickly in fights

which is, indeed, the worst I have seen in top-level boxing since a peak Vito Antuofuermo.

he makes Margarito look like Willie Pep.

Mikey Alvarado is one tough fighter, I really want to see him do well. He's as brave as hell, but his manager is even braver.

Two back to back wars with a pile driving hitter like Brandon Rios, and they follow it straight up by matching him with a beast like Provodkinov: the type of fighter most people will be avoiding without a doubt.

Imagine a WBO UK world champ getting matched like that ? Never happen.

The Siberian Rocky looks as hard as nails, I reckon he wins this.

He had that hard, hard fight with Prescott too.

Yes it is if a cardboard cut out could outbox him then he wouldn't have 30 wins I never mentioned head movement he did .

i think Alvarado is going to be stunnedb y how hard this guy hits. Provodnikov inside 4 rounds.

I think Alvarado will bust Provodnikov up with his boxing skills and stop him in 10 rounds.

Could end up being another distance fight that everyone expects to end early ala Garcia-Matthysse.

Wish it was on BN as they would have broadcast the yank commentary gonna have to put up with jim watt waffling pish for the whole fight on sky sports
