The flexible one and Big daddy are having a bit of a conflab about the draw of a proposed fantasy (as yet) fight between Flloyd Mayweather Vs Amir Khan here in the UK. How Do you think it would go?

It depends where it's held...could Floyd v Khan fill a stadium or would we see it at somewhere like the Manchester Arena?

yea i saw them on about it and Buncey seems to think this "event" would sell out 70000 no problem

to be fair when Hatton was fighting in machester on his First return from defeat i knew girls on facebook ect that were buying tickets to go to it , it had that Festival , Gig Feel about it

Alot of mayweathers now found popularity with the UK was because of Hatton bringing him to the mainstreams view IMO.

i can see it obviosly selling well but cant see those figures .

You could sell 80,000 tickets to see a rabid dog eat its own excrement if the right people on Twitter came out and said it was the place to be.

I think throw in a good undercard and other things to make it an event as Buncey says it can sell 50k plus easy. People will want to see Mayweather before he retires.

Doubt it will happen for tax reasons unless it becomes exempt. Otherwise its MGM Grand

It'll sell 50k I reckon but not the 80k Bunce has stated.

I reckon that could sell 70k no bother without a good undercard never mind with a good undercard.

Personally id rather see it happen in Manchester than London as it makes it a helluva lot easier for us scots to get there and see the masterclass of mayweather in action.

The tickets would need to be wisely priced starting at 30 quid or something tho if it was a stadium fight.

Have it at Celtic Park or Hampden then!! Suits me.

The stadium would sell out 80k no doubt- its a once in a lifetime event.

It will be vegas though

With a stacked undercard you could sell it out. Would need a decent chief support, Murray v Barker standard.

Neither of those shitholes hold 80k.

The only reason i reckon holding Floyd back from a Wembley fight would be taxation, i think he developed a soft spot for British fights in the Hatton bout/build-up and otherwise would be open to a huge UK event, especially seeing the NFL's success in London.

It would sell out wherever it was held. People pointing to Bruno-McCall or Bruno-Lewis are forgetting those were pre internet days and tickets, travel and hotels were more difficult to sort.

It would sell out wembley ! There's many people all over Europe who would love to witness Floyd fighting, and fighting khan would sell out pretty fast IMO

If the Mayweather fight was in May 2014, Khan could get knocked out twice between now and then and the fight would still fill a stadium.

Khan isn't exactly a huge draw. Floyd v me would probably come close to selling 60k tickets!

Yeah I'm with the last few posters the fact it's Khan doesn't even matter. The fight sells off Mayweathers name alone

The fight would do just about 60K. With Mayweather coming over and the price he commands, I can't see the undercard being anything special.

I agree with you mate. It'd do a hundred K, easy I reckon. Not that anywhere even seats 100k do they? I think Cardiff only holds 90 and that's massive.
A few well placed ads and TV slots would be all it took. If they put it somewhere small no doubt tickets would "sell out" in 3 minutes and hardcore, travelling Khan-Fans (i.e. me - Barrera and Diaz :OhYes: ) would lose out.

Khan has massive exposure here as does mayweather with thanks to hatton albeit.not only would it be over flowing with Brits, Europe also would relish the oppurtunity to witness mayweather the greatest fighter of his generation & all time great!
I would pay silly money to watch mayweather

Khans "massive exposure" doesn't sell tickets here, you only need look as far as his last fight which struggled at the Motorpoint Sheffield. The hardcore fans would flock to this (as I would) but I just don't think it would appeal to Joe public as PBF just isn't exciting enough.

Zero.

This fight will never, under any circumstances, take place in the UK.

As Earsjohn says, it is not going to happen, but.... If it did, they would definitely flock to it. Floyd is an icon now, his training session at the Peacock was big enough and he is far bigger now. Guaranteed sell out.

As said in the OP this fight is fantasy.

I just don't think it would be as popular to the average man as everyone thinks. When I put it to the lads I went with to Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe etc they just don't seem interested in it.

Having experienced the thousands of people standing outside the Peacock gym (the vast majority of whom did not even get a glimpse of Mayweather and were not allowed to enter the gym) when Mayweather merely did a press workout for the Marquez fight, I have no doubt Mayweather would sell out any venue in the UK. He has a huge fanbase in the UK and the rarity of the event will sell itself (i.e. a Mayweather fight in the UK). He is a living legend after all.

It's merely hypothetical at the moment though.

I reckon it would sell 45,732 roughly...
