What you got?

I'm going with Frampton to win by TKO in round seven.

I was at Carl's public training session two days ago and he looks lean and mean.

Yer I'm going with Frampton in the mid rounds

Frampton in 6 - a few rounds to suss him out, few more to grind him down then go for an impressive finish.

Hope he fights "the guy from up north in Bury" as he calls him very soon.

Can't see anything other than a Frampton stoppage win...around 6 or 7.

I can't see that fight happening any time soon - well within the next 12 months anyway. And to be honest, I think that Quigg needs Frampton more than Carl needs him.

For the past year Framtpion has targeted the IBF Super Bantamweight title - and Frampton said last month that he would be more than willing to have a rematch with Kiko Martinez (though it will be interesting to see who wins between Martinez and Mathebula)... And this week Carl has vocied Leo Santa Cruz as the next guy he wnats to fight - probably for the WBC Title.

There are plenty of options for Carl.

As for Scott Quigg = now that he is recognised as the WBA Champ it will be interesting what he does with the title. He's scheduled to defend it next month and there has not been any word on who his challenger will be. But I do think that Quigg will probably have to give Salinas a rematch sometime fairly soon.

His World Title is exactly why he might need Frampton. I can't see the British public being overly enthused with Scott defending his World Title against lower ranked guys...
(They did not, for example, tolerate it during Nathan Cleverly's World Reign - but then, he was Welsh I suppose).

Quigg will now be expected to fight the top guys in the divsion. And there is this perception of - now that he is a World Champion there is no reason for these fights not to happen.

At the moment however, something like eight of the current top ten guys have fights scheduled over the course of the next three/four months - (most of which are against each other, I think) which is probably the reason why the Super Bantamweight Division is so exciting these days.

Coming back to Scott Quigg - I do honestly think that there will be these demands of him to take the tough fights of his weight division. With that, comes a certain pressure which is partially his own fault for being so vocal on his journey to a World Title but also the expectation of him from the English public to prove himself as a top fighter.

And realistically, I can't see many of these bouts becoming big money-spinners for him. So the question becomes: Is It Worth It?
These difficult fights which will be ahead of him for such little cash - it's the oldest question in the boxing manual - the risk/reward ratio. And because of that, the second question is:
Will Quigg be tempted to take easier fights?

At the moment (barring Frampton) the only challenger that I can think of who might excite the publics imagination is Kid Galahad...
Other than that, I guess a Unification would be the only other way to go.

I think I have put forward a compelling case there.

Exactly. And somehwere down the line, it's gonna be expcted of Quigg to give Salinas a rematch after that draw.

Most Sky Sports subscribers have it for football, all B o x n a t i o n subscribers have it for boxing. I'd hazard a guess that Frampton will get as many viewers as Quigg gets on Sky.

I think if you added the BN viewing figures and compared that to the Sky viewing figures, Sky will be superior.

How many people have actually seen Parodi to make their predictions? Im pretty sure Carl himself said he's only seen Parodi on some dodgy french gameshow! Haha.

It would be interesting to see what happens if Hearn makes a deal for a unification fight between Quigg and Martinez and Quigg wins. You could end up with a situation where Frampton has to fight Quigg on a matchroom bill for his world title shot.

Why a step back fight after Kiko? Clearly is. Parodi lost to Arsen Martirosyan who is a journeyman. And Parodi can't crack an egg. And he's not winning a decision on the road here. His paths to victory are zero. Not sure what betting odds are but they have to be massive.

Time has come for Frampton to see if he can swim in the deep end.

Haha I saw that, said he was confident because the kid couldn't do the bars.

Im pretty sure he'll be pretty dire even with that record! Have to admit that I find it harder to pick who's better between Frampton and Quigg now than I did in the past. Whilst it wasnt the most exciting or best performance from Quigg against Salinas, it showed that he can be patient and box using his brain. I wasnt sure how good he was in that regard. I knew he can punch and he goes to the body very well but I wasnt sure of his overall boxing ability. The thing that might seperate them is Quigg's chin which is a little suspect. He does a very good job with the way he holds his hands up and uses his gloves to block to make up for that though. I think if he was to fight Martinez we'd know a bit more about him in that regard! That would be a fight i'd look forward to as it would be intriguing. I hope Eddie tries to make that one before Frampton gets there and then that fight has to happen really if Frampton wants his shot.
