http://www.BS.com/cleverly-kov ... ins--70905 .... I can see where he's coming from but also in the article he says you cant outsmart Hopkins as he's the best out there at that. I thought that was exactly what Dawson did?

Hopkins wouldn't stand there with his hands round his waist demonstrating his 'iron' chin that's for sure.

Im pretty sure that whatever the result Hopkins would do better than Cleverly did.

Cleverly's style is way too "infront of you" to be successful against someone like Kovalev.

I thought that was a fair interview given by Clev.

Lets be honest, nobody has a clue how Murat got up the rankings and into that position cos he's a chunk 'o shit.

Credit to his promoters I say.

And outworked. Just like Taylor and Calzaghe before him.

I agree with that, but I think Nathan could've won that if he used his jab like he showed in spells

I think it was a mixture of the two. Dawson has a good boxing brain aswell as speed.

He used his jab quite a lot in the fight, or atleast tried to use it. He just didnt really have the weight behind his punches to really make Kovalev go backwards.

I do believe Kovalev would beat Hopkins, he's too aggressive and I don't think Hopkins could do his normal thing and win enough rounds to take the fight.

I kinda doubt he stops B-Hop though, if nothing else I think he'd still be able to survive the distance.

Yeah, Hopkins has a far superior, defensive boxing brain in contrast to Cleverly who is right there to be hit. The one thing we don't really know about Kovalev is how good his chin is yet. Not that Hopkins would be the man to test it.

Yeah he certainly wouldn't be. He hasn't stopped anybody in a long, long time.
