Just a question regarding rules about only fighting pro boxing. How come the british board dont allow fighters to compete in other ring sports yet the Irish board and French board and proberly every single board in the world even the American board allows it. I was told that its incase they sustain a head injury during a fight but surely if they are paying for a medical every year then it works the same. Also if its a medical excuse surely that doesnt wash as no doubt fighters are knocked out in sparring and still go on to fight. I really cant understand this and only came to my attention due to Ronnie Clark no longer being allowed to Kickbox. I know people have opinions on it but I genuinly just want to know what people think of this.

In realistic terms i think the recent events with Luxembourg, GBA and malta show thats although the board can control who box on their sanctioned shows they cant really prevent people boxing on other shows, Their license isnt a boxing license its a BBBoC license, and therefore their rules only apply to their own shows.
So i cant imagine it will be long before licensed boxers will be able to fight where they want due to the EU restraint of trade law.

Could we end up with a situation at domestic level that we have at world level? Could have the Malta Boxing Associations 'British' Champion fighting the BBBoC's 'British' Champion in a unification fight

its quite simple really the boards insurers will only insure boxers for boxing on board regulated shows once they get a board licence so if they fight on another show whether kick boxing judo or boxing whilst they have a board licence the insurance is null and void because if a boxer gets injured on a board show they could take the view of part of the damage in the case of a slow bleed could have been caused in the fighters last contest which was on a non board regulated show which means insurance is null and void

In fairness though what has the board done for boxers that have got these kind of injuries. From what I have heard they have been hung out to dry. The insurance doesn't pay out and certainly not to the level it should. As for being able to do different martial arts. I'm against it and feel the policy is right but for the wrong reasons. It's simple, if fighters where allowed to fight elsewhere the board would make less money. Fighters would go to where they earn the most money. For example there would be less fighters fighting regularly which means less shows = less profit for BBofBC
