Cerdan is underrated. Mostly because he fought his best years in Europe and so never tested himself against the best until he was past his prime.

Most internet users don’t seem to rate him too much. But talk to people from that era and they hold him in high regard. Most old-timers believe he’d have won a rematch with LaMotta…I always ask that question on boxing sites to posters who were around back then.

When I first started following boxing he was a sure MW top 10. Hopkins has moved ahead of him since then. I’m not sure anyone else has.
