Very disappointing. Kind of stunned at how awful he was. Legs looked like stilts. Was on queer street the moment he was tagged.

He froze to an extent but I would recommend he leaves it at that. Browne will be cannon fodder for Price if the big scouser has anything left.

Based on that I'm not sure how he was a useful sparring partner for Wlad or Haye.

The famed Ingle style really doesn't suit the gangly frame of Towers. He was so awkward trying to shoulder roll punches and swipe in fast left hooks from the waist. Not sure how he survived all that sparring with the likes of Wilder.

Haye said Towers would wipe the floor with Fury
I am not sure I actually believe any words that come out of Haye's mouth any more ...

He's just not good enough, wish some of those commentators would just say that! instead of all the "he didnt box to his full potential, why didnt he put power in his shots blah blah blah"

First thing I thought as it was unfolding was just that. Haye's claims Towers would box rings round Fury sounded lame but now just look absurd!

Before someone else says it. I can't believe you ruined this for everyone I thought I could come on a boxing forum during the fights without finding out the results thanks a lot.

Your man was a lot more sturdy and boxed on the front foot all bout, Towers didn't really seem like he had a plan and fiddled until he was caught and hurt. He needs to do a Johnny Nelson type thing of being a high level sparring partner for 12 months to get some proper experience; Browne looked strong and basic but came across the world to win, fair play to him.

Towers has done the sparring, he's been in with Haye, the Klitschko's, Pianeta, Wilder and plenty more, the issue is that he makes basic mistakes and has a glass jaw, which is partly down to his matchstick legs. A 6'8" man should be heavier than 16st 8lbs, he needs to put a stone on, most of it on his legs, going the other way, Browne needs to take a stone off, he looked a bit flabby tonight.

Towers is what he is: a big, strong man. That's it.
He's never demonstrated in any of his fights particuarly good skills, defense, etc.
So I don't understand all the hate or disappointment in the loss. It was expected.
England seems these days to be promoting an awful lot of men out of this fabric; first David Price, now Towers, and you also have big, strong loud mouths like Ian Lewison who will ultimately fall into the same grouping of size doesn't mean diddly in boxing if you don't know how to effectively use it.
I remember interviewing Towers several months ago, where he kept on saying over and again, "This is the era of true heavyweights. When an 18-20 stone man hits you, you're gone," as if to mean no boxer half the size couldn't duck, dodge, slip, and counter someone of that size. Only a complete fool or moron with trade punches with a man that size---- that is why this is called the SWEET SCIENCE, this isnt about barbarism and brutality. The little man, in the end, will befuddle any big man.
The only true difference, however, between Browne and Towers is that Browne does have moderately good skills--- he can use that jab, and uses lateral movement--- albeit not in a worldclass way, but certainly enough to make a standard run of the mill giant like Towers look awful silly. Browne has a long way to go, though, imho to demonstrate he is anything more than a Commonwealth and domestic level heavyweight.
As for Haye's ill-remarks that Towers would of mopped the floor with Fury, it's complete bullshit and ignorance. I suspect it's mainly a 'brothers' thing, where black men stick together on shit. That and Haye wanting to elevate himself as being more than what he is. Fury, unlike Towers and Browne, is a very mobile and agile giant who uses his jab quite well and when focused is a tough assignment. Though not as precise and accurate as the Klitschko's, Fury is well above the Commonwealth and domestic level that Browne and Towers are.

Towers against Dallas could be an interesting cliff top type of affair.

some people can do it but have the comfort of not having to fight for a living, then you get guys with 25% (and less) of that ability for who it becomes a very real career. Unfortunately it's not all Rocky Balboa. You might get the kudos of being "the boxer" but when you've got stiff legs and get chinned and look sh*t on TV and have to go out the next day....not to mention risk injury. It can't be nice.
I haven't seen it and I certainly respect the balls of anyone that gets in the ring, but he doesn't sound like a natural. It must be very, very hard to swallow reading comments about yourself such as on here.

I don't remember a British HW looking that bad, mind. Just awful, every time Browne landed a thing he was panicking and making basic mistakes. Terrible. Got 1/2 on Browne, like printing money.
