I assume this will be done sooner rather than later as I think Price will want to hold onto at least one belt and assume he will vacate the British as his mandatory is Chisora and he needs to fight by Feb.

How do you see this panning out.

I don't think it is cut and dried or one sided at all tbh.

Price comfortable for me Browne is much closer in levels to Sexton/Mcdermott/Skelton than he is to Thompsin

Browne is very limited but he can duck/worm inside and he can punch so you never know

Price early. For all his flaws he's still better than the likes of Lucas Browne. He lost to Tony Thompson who whilst a little short at world level is still a level above commonwealth and domestic level.

Browne dropped Travis Walker 3 times in their fight earlier this year and stopped him.

That alone has to be very worrying for Price should they fight.

Pulev, Chagaev & Perez between them couldn't drop Walker once.

Browne can definitely bang for sure, and I would argue he has more obvious punch power than Tony Thompson. Again, worrying for Price.

Walker is shot though and he doesnt have the boxing ability and size and reach that Price possesses. Regarding Pulev, Chagaev and Perez none of those guys are particularily big punchers at heavyweight. I remember seeing an interview of Walkers where he said he was surprised at how light Pulev's punches were for a heavyweight.

He is definitely at the same level as them at the moment, but with the one vital difference Browne has real power and a 90% KO rate. Sexton as a 30% KO rate.

You could also argue that wins over Travis Walker, James Toney and Richard Towers are much better wins than any of the above have achieved.

You could make a pretty strong case that Walker and Toney are better wins than David Price has ever achieved too

I think Price should win, but I wouldn't want to bet on it and I just feel he has very little bottle and Browne has a tonne of it.

Before he fought Thompson, Price would win hands down for me

I still think he would win, but as his brain is delicate at the moment you have to think the doubt would creep in, if the fight goes past 4-5 rounds - it seems he also has stamia issues, but this might have been down to not doing the rounds (knocking people out really early)

Adam Booth is the perfect trainer for him at the moment

all the talk about thompson being world class...is true...however the KO punch in their first fight was featherweight

i see Price doing ok on the domestic scene....but anything from Browne and above will be too much

Browne doesnt have a very good chin himself though. Walker dropped him and Scott Belshaw dropped him aswell.

Browne has proven what Price hasn't.

Browne can go 12 full rounds if need be, so he has good stamina. (#Toney fight)

Browne can face an equally great puncher and win, so he has a solid chin. (#Walker fight)

Browne can face a taller, heavier, opponent and win. (#Towers fight)

Browne has taken the harder road overall than Price. Switching sports from MMA to boxing, he has taken this change over seriously and is very dedicated to his training and honing of skills. He has also fought the better quality opposition, and won those fights. He has shown he can use his jab very well, has good head movement, and can both box and slug--- he may not be world class at it, but he is far ahead of Price is at this stage.

Browne has shown what he can do to a large man with stamina and chin issues (Towers). I do give Price credit though, he's a glutton for punishment.

I'll be all over Browne when the betting is announced as he will probably be sonething silly like 5/1 or 6/1 just to win, despite beating the better opposition.

towers isn't heavier than browne as stated above.
Difficult to call this one price could well win early but I wouldn't put it past browne to bully him out of the title. Price needs a warm up first just like Towers did and foolishly didn't take.

Price inside 2 rounds, Browne isn't brilliant defensively and I wasn't that impressed by his jab either, he stuck it out there but it wasn't a thumping jab and he struggled to land on Towers, Price lines him up and the right hand flattens him.

I don't think Browne had been tested too much. I think Price would win by KO.

Only safe bet here is it wont go to points!!!

Knocking a fighter down does not count if you can't finish him. Both times Browne got up & took the other bloke apart.

Price is clearly massively vulnerable in the mid-late rounds range. A new coach won't change that fact. If Browne can tuck up for 4 rounds, he's in the fight. Price may well turn out to be the second coming of Danny Watts!

Browne looked so bad against Towers, basically as bad as I expected. He's very limited, a lumbering club fighter. Slow and ponderous, and his lack of amateur experience really shows. If he took 5 rounds to get to a scrub like Towers he'll struggle more against a guy with more range , even though Price doesn't use his reach advantage particularly well. I don't see Price having a problem at all with this guy. For all Price's flaws, he's going to be able to avoid Browne's cumbersome rushes and land something chilling very early on. I would be shocked if Browne were to survive past 3.

I agree. Browne can punch a bit, but Price is much better overall and will have it over with before his chin gets checked. It's also not like Browne is a very experienced and crafty guy like Thompson who can roll with shots, get through very rough moments, and wear Price down
