Why is it he is receiving accolades for his comeback fight? He beat some rubbish, novice fighter and now people are praising him. He will never be an elite fighter, let alone be a top fighter on the domestic level. He should go back to football

I'm not trolling him. He's just not deserving of being considered a world class fighter. Sure he is a magnificent athlete but a world class boxing not a chance

To be fair mate, I dont think anyone, himself included has ever said he was world class. He's a good domestic level fighter who wants a domestic title if I remember correctly. You cant hate on him for that.

So by your own criteria no performance of a boxer should ever be praised unless they are an elite fighter? Laughable. If Curtis should go back to football, you should go back to kindergarten.

What a ridiculous post. He was a good footballer & IS a good boxer which is a lot further than most of us will get in life!

ha ha brilliant!! 1st i know im not world class, never have been, never will be, I think im a decent domestic operator that with a bit of luck can one day be british champion, my comeback fight was against somebody I was expected to beat and I did and boxed well IMO, don't forget I got chinned 6 weeks ago who do you want me to comeback against? lewis was a tough kid who was bigger and stronger than me who got his nose broke in round 2, dropped by a hard body shot in round 5 and still kept coming, show the man a bit of respect, and if I should retire then what about the 20 kids ive beat, should they all retire? boxing is not only for world champions and future world champions, its for kids at all levels, me included, I love my job and ill decide when its over for me not you

I don't understand the attitude of people like the op. The suggestion being unless you're a world class boxer you shouldn't bother taking up the sport. It's nonsense. I bet the there's tonnes of boxers who would give their eye teeth to be a British champion or Commonwealth champion. They're titles that give boxers to aim at and a great deal of pride when they get there. Imagine if people said you should only take up football if you're going to be as good as Wayne Rooney. You'd get laughed out of town

I think the OP has a problem with me because he surly not daft enough to think that if your not world class you shouldn't box, that would leave us with about 4 fighters in Britain, just a troll looking for a day out on daybreak

Some threads on this are just completely pointless. Curtis wants to win a British title for a very good reason. Why should anyone knock him. There is not one fighter out there who I wish can get the British title more than Curtis. He knows his limitations and he knows what he wants. Keep plugging away Curtis I'm sure you will get a few more pops at it..

He deserves massive respect for what he is doing. He gave Gavin a run for his money (forget about Gavin's problems) he is a credit to himself and the sport I just hope he gets that British title shot before he retires.

You just need a challenging fight before you step in with a top British name and you'll give them a hell of a fight mate.

Terrible thread from this user. I was actually thinking you were boxing really well on Saturday. In fact you need to box more like that Curtis, don't get into a brawl. I apologise on behalf of this forum for slating your performance, terrible thread for a fight you did well in. You are the first to admit you won't be the next world champ but a British title is something you can aim for and I think can achieve. Keep the dream alive.

thanks topgun, no need to apologise pal, 99% of posters know the score, this guy just obviously doesn't understand boxing, like I said world domination isn't my goal, a british title is and I think I can win one, and yea im defo going to be more boxer than brawler in the future, now im operating at a higher level I need to change my approach a bit so that's what I will do

You looked good, mixed the shots up. When you fought Derry, it looked like you were trying too hard and his experience came through. You were not as relaxed as you were on Saturday. Not to take anything away from Derry but you made him look good. Nice to see Ryan in your corner with Dave, looks like a good little team.

Curtis gets lots of appreciation on here because:

a) He's an exciting fighter to watch, who puts it all in there.
b) He seems like a decent bloke.
c) He posts here, and we appreciate that.

We could do with more like him.
