Anybody clarify how many wins do you need at same weight to keep the belt outright ,my mate thinks its 5 now but doesn't have the circular from board anymore cps his dog ate it can any licence holder let me know please

I thought it was 3 defences of a Lonsdale belt but at any weight?? Maybe I have picked it up wrong somewhere

They've got to be at same weight and for some reason my mate now thinks its 5 wins I'm sure it's a win and three defences

A win and 3 defences, one of which has to be a mandatory, they have to be at the same weight but not in the same reign.

i did not know that, i knew the first part.

Is it that you can only win 1 belt, so if you did say 6 defenses then you wouldn't win a 2nd.
Not sure what would happen if the boxer moved up and won another british title at a different weight and then made another 3 defenses

No you're wrong. You can win multiple belts.

Not anymore they dont give you a second belt now. Not that I can think of a recent fighter who would have qualified for the accolade

If they qualify they will receives second belt.

I may be wrong Im sure I heard you could only now win one belt. As I mentioned though who was the last person who did win 2 lonsdales outright?

Im looking at Danny Williams record does he qualify for a second belt?

What happens if you won the title defended the title twice lost it then win the title again .

As far as I understand that would give you the belt outright. AN example of that would be Paul Smith. He wins outright if he beats Blackledge. Win against Quigley defence against Dodson lost to Degale, win against Dodson again and then beat Blackledge and he wins outright.

Our 'enry won 3 belts outright at Heavyweight. I would think he was probably one of the last boxers to win more than one belt outright at the same weight.
Also previously 3 wins at the same weight would bag you the belt outright, but this was changed to 4 wins around 1999-2000ish by the BBofC.

Clinton Mckenzie Won 2 belts outright.

It used to be possible to win multiple belts, Henry Cooper being the prime example, but the board have now limited it to one. But, if you move up in weight, it's possible to win a second belt outright at that weight.

Sure Michael Gomaz won 2..

Jamie Moore won it, defended twice, lost, won it back and then defended successfully another three times.

I'm sure my mate did some filming with him and he got two lonsdale belts out for the cameras.
