Does he stand a chance with any of the Top Welterweights in the world? If so, who?

Can't see it personally although I've never seen any sign of him not being able to take a shot I think the lack of power in his punches will see the top guns walk through and bully Frankie

I agree but I'd still give him a shot against guys like Chris Van Heerden and Jessie Vargas, who are both ranked above him.

I think it would very much depend on who he boxed.

Sorry mate I thought you meant the top dogs of the division if your including fighters in say the top 15 or 20 then yeah I think he could beat a few of the ranked fighters. The one fight I would love to see him in would be Jesus soto karass the man can be outboxed but loves a brawl I think that would make for a real 50/50 fight

I think he would give Khan a good fight, but if by elite you mean Bradley, Mayweather, Pacquiao etc. then no.

He will be very hard to beat, and his chin looks good to me. I'm a big fan, though...

I think it will soon get to the point where its going to be a sink or swim throw him in and see how he can do. Hopefully Frank can pull some strings and get him a big fight. My opinion is he should follow a similar path to Burns and skip Euro level go for a big fight see how he fares. He is the type that will do better with a big fight on his plate I feel

I don't think he will ever be elite unfortunately. I just don't see in him what guys like Mickey and the others do.

Looking at the Ring top 10, which isn't brilliant considering Kell Brook is 4, Malignaggi and Maidana are 9 and 10 and I'd take him to beat both of those right now and there's only Mayweather, Bradley, Marquez and Pacquaio who I'd definitely pick to beat him, he wouldn't be favourite against any and none would be 50-50 fights but I'd take him over the two mentioned before and give him a chance against the others. I'd bring Selcuk Aydin in next for him, he beat him twice as an amateur, has fought in the US and Gavin would comfortably beat him for me.

Fascinated in what people see in this guy that makes them think he's a top fighter.

+1 Aydin is a good shout. Only saw his fight with Guerrero looks solid to me was heavily avoided at once I think plus he has kept very active.

I'd fancy Frankie's chances against Maidana.

Maidana, like all pressure fighters, struggles with southpaws, especially counter punchers, as shown by the Alexander fight, he's improved since then, but Frankie beat Vassell with ease and Welborn, who although at a far lower level than Vassell was dispatched in similar fashion and he was huge at the weight and he couldn't bully Gavin physically and neither could Vassell. They're both bigger than Maidana with similar styles, albeit less skilled and certainly less powerful and I'd pick him to win comfortably against Maidana providing there's no issues with his chin, which there doesn't seem to be.

I'm gonna do my best an I'm pretty sure my chins ok yes I am have seen lil flashes when been hit big but they have gone straight away an I feel fine.. But I'm very confident in my jaw

Its a very tough division at world level but frankie is a very talented boxer,you dont get to be ranked number one in the world in the amateurs and best in britain at your weight as a pro if your crap. All the top guys at the weight at world level are only human too so i dont see why he cant mix it with them. He is with the best promotor in britain so he is in safe hands and will continue to be guided well.

Seen vargas a few times, hes a very slick boxer with a good chin. Tough fight for anyone including gavin

Yes i think he is getting guided well,he has a lonsdale outright,not many boxers this day and age have one,so for me yes he is getting guided well. Its not his fault barnes didnt turn up to fight and it wont be the last time a fighter doesnt turn up to fight so its a learning fight. It will be hard to get the high profile building on a channel that adds extra cost to the customers monthly bill,not every promotor gets handed the golden egg by skytv in a time of a triple dip recession.

And frankie isnt crap but id say he is top 3 in britain the other 2 being on the verge of world class and debatable world class in brook and khan.

After Brook-Senchenko was announced Frankie's promoter supposedly offered 100k for Brook to fight him, before announcing the Barnes fight which we were told was to secure the Lonsdale belt.
Frankie's opponent for his next fight should be hopefully a big step-up in class.

I think win Lonsdale belt outright maybe go for the winner or Bundu vs Purdy then step up to eliminators.

A Pablo Cesar Cano or Josesito Lopez in America on a big show would be ideal IMO.
