stop creating half a page with hypothetical
matchups. for duce: write all he has to say
about ali in one thread and stop the drum
in all others.

I don't know. It's up to them.

Sometimes Vladimir puts up dream fights and I wonder, "why's he picked that one?"

Vlad, why not put them up as polls? Make it easier to respond.

Il Duce has an interesting take on boxing. He has a neat turn of phrase but as I'm not sure what is true, what he thinks is true, and what is him having fun...I juts sort of gave up reading them a long time ago...

No. You don't have to read their threads, and everybody has the ability to block somebody's posts in the User Control Panel. If their posts aggravate or upset you, that's a self-inflicted wound.

look, if no one else sees a problem then
i have the problem. no one forces me to
come here or read anything.

but just in case you haven't realized that by
yourself, your threads push others down and
since this section is not that busy it can be
that you simply shut down conversations this
way.

but as i said, i might be the minority with
this view.

i usually scroll threw the first one, max two
pages of a section. even the threads started
by people on my ignore list show in the list
of threads and thus it doesn't help not to read
them. and these two people seem to start quite
a substantial amount of threads.

but as i said. if i am the problem here, i shut
up and stop passing by this section. easy.

same here in a way.

i always loved this section, since it had this calm
approach to things. more substance than talk, more
thoughtful than trolling. i feel like this partially fades
away or i just do not see it anymore.

I like Vladimir's hypothetical match ups, he poses some thought provoking ones, but I agree that half as many would be better. Duce's constant assault on Ali is tiresome, and if by putting him on ignore I could make it disappear, I would.

I guess that's a fair point. I has to go through may pages to find threads I wanted to write on...and many of them had been and gone without me seeing them the first time.

BUT Vladimir should post whatever he likes. It's not really up to me. And he seems like a good guy.

Also....For those who want to ignore some other posters...you do have an "ignore" feature. Not sure if that makes threads disappear or not?

I enjoy dream fights. They can be thought provoking. But sometimes it can be too much of a good thing. It's true that Vlad's plethora of dream fights often forces other threads to quickly fall on the page and are overlooked.
That means the more substantive, informational posts often get lost. Not a good thing.
Would I be asking too much if a new category of Dream Fights was created? That would apparently solve the problem.

In regards to Il Duce, his historical efforts are often captivating. I enjoyed reading his retrospectives on Andy Price, Muniz-Napoles, Backus-Napoles, Stracey-Napoles and Elisha Obed. All were illuminating.
Also good stuff on examining the evolution of Ken Norton's questionable chin.

His hatred for Ali is obvious to anyone with half a brain and 2 eyes. His opinion is fine. I do object to him tossing out unverified "facts" and providing no source or link. And going ballistic over ex-Ali wife Sonji Roi's high-heeled shoes and branding her a ho was way over the top and calls his overall credibility into serious question.
He may be writing some Ali stuff tounge-in-cheek or even fabricating a significant portion of it. But whatever. This isn't the Los Angeles Times where he'd be quickly dismissed for inventing "facts." It's a forum in cyberspace and the usual journalistic rules don't apply.

You don't have to like him. You may even consider him a loon.
But let Il Duce be, and if you don't care for what he posts, when you see his name, simply skip past him.

look. you're entitled to your opinion, but you
do the exact same thing all day long, just from
different angles. yet i have you on my ignore
and that is actually quite fine. in a way it is
unfair to involve you in this thread. just saw
a couple of your threads underneath vladimir's,
so i put you right into it as well.

whatever. maybe i just have a bad day and you
guys are just great contributors to the board ...

It is within the realm of possibility that I will gather the Ali/Duce threads and combine them at some point.

Please know this is a lot of work....and well....I'm not overly inspired to go to work for my friend Ducey.

As far as Vlads....they do drop quickly once folks have chimed in.

I'm not inclined to punish folks for hypotheticals.

though Vlad....the polling idea might make things go more smoothly....
