Any news on the future of Matthew Barney, he's coming off a career best win and I thought he would have at least lined up a bout by now.
At this rate, Tony Oakey will fight before him.

He gave up his British super-middleweight title (and missed out on giving the overrated likes of Dodson and Froch a boxing lesson for good paydays) to fight for the nothing WBU title. He's now up a creek without a paddle. He hasn't fought since winning the title. Even a proposed title defence in Australia has fizzled out.

The only lesson Barney could teach boxers such as Dodson and especially Froch is how to cling on for dear life.

No, Barney, like Sven Ottke, is a great fighter.

Barney reminds me of the italian armoured division's tanks. 6 Gears, 5 of them reverse.

His old man phoned up BN once having a right pop at Claude. It was hilarious watching Claude trying to fob him off after about half an hour.

Barney's biggest mistake is that he left Eugene Maloney after winning his WBU title. Where has it got him?
Maloney deserved a medal for steering Barney to a British title, then a spurious world title. And that's how he was treated.

Is there some hidden meaning in this statement I am missing here?

Not what you think, James. Claude's a diamond (he's put me on the payroll now). But I've learned you have to say nice things about Matthew Barney on the web. He has a lot of 'contacts', shall we say. He's big in the gipsy fraternity.

Barney is struggling to be European standard. Dean Francis very nearly beat him using one arm. He is a boring spoiler.

Blimey I'd better remember not to go to any traveller sites. I've nothing against Barney as a human being, nor as a gypsy, however I do not find him enjoyable to watch, is that a crime?

Not at all. I find him exhilerating to watch, by the way.

Having spent some time in the commercial vehicle parts trade I've met more than my fair share of members of the "travelling community". It's not something I miss.
Have to say though that Barney and his dad do not seem like typical pikey people - mostly because you can actually understand what they are saying. Barney Snr does not look like he enjoys a laugh though, probably best to stay out of his way.
