Nice interview.

I still think DeGale is one of the most talented British fighters, his career is seems to be stuck in a very big rut.

I'm assuming they are targeting the WBC mandatory spot as he has the 'sliver' championship and Bika is probably the weakest belt holder. Although given Chavez Jrs relationship with the WBC that belt may already have his name on it.

I've said before I'd love to see DeGale go to America where they are used to bringing along guys with his skillset. Although from that interview he seems pretty settled in NW London.

i agree think degale would benefit greatly from a move to USA.

He came across really well there, being respectful to all the other SMW including Froch. None of that will matter though as people only talk about him when he comments in an interview that he thinks he can beat Froch, then he'll get slaughtered for it. Sounds like he's putting a lot of pressure on Mick to get him a world title fight or a big name, I think its time after this weekend he fights a Stieglitz type of level guy.

Bika is fighting Anthony Dirrell in December. There's a very strong chance that Dirrell will be the new champion. That certainly wouldnt be an easy fight for Degale.

Anthony Dirrell is very average, he's not a patch on his brother...I'd take DeGale to beat Anthony Dirrell.

Someone else said that! He looked like he has good speed and power though.

DeGale won't go anywhere he hasn't really been in with anyone of any class apart from Groves!
I'd like to see DeGale maybe go against someone like Yusef Mack see how he does against an ex Froch victim maybe even Bute!

I think a move to the US would have benefited his career earlier on, he believes in his own hype to much and he has surrounded himself with people that do too. ( Maybe that what Mick H see's too hence the current situation regards title shots and big names) He seems like quiet a fragile character unless he is being bigged up and another defeat or a move where he becomes a small fish in a big pond at this stage could well break him IMO.

He always seems to wants praise and has an excuse for lack of performance.


However maybe I am wrong and he needs a big fight to bring the best out in him ............?
