Anthony Joshua vs Danny Fleary

Danny has confirmed he's fighting Joshua next week on his facebook page. Guess the other guy has dropped out. Terrible fight, no way is danny a 2 fight novice cruiserweight ready for Joshua. Just hope he doesn't get hurt. His team really should not let him take the fight. The only fighters from Darlington who have any business being in the ring with Joshua would be someone with a bit of experience like Carl Wilson or a Chris Burton who would give him a great fight.

They could easily get someone much better than this even at only one week's notice.

This is on the undercard of a PPV. Hearn is showing contempt for the fans with this decision.

That's a shame, thought Avila would have been a real solid test.

Think Hearn wants a round 1 KO for the big fight to make him look good in front of the casuals?

Id fight him at a weeks notice (Danny Hughes) dont think the board will pass this fight Joshua could seriously hurt this kid by the look of his record and he is only cruiserweight

It's only his 4th fight. it is OK to fight 3 or 4 more bums before he steps up a little. he has time to develope. I just hope they are not doing it like price letting him fight 15 bums and then step up to fast. 3 more bums, then a guy like dallas and then sprott would be a good progression.

I wish you would offer your services so Joshua could beat the living daylights out of you.

I don't want to see Danny Williams anywhere near a British boxing ring again, anyone who allows or encourages him to fight should take a good look at themselves. He could go in with them, but they won't fight over shorter distances and over the full distance would be too clever for him right now.

Because he has brain damage? Morally, it would be wrong to allow him to fight Joshua.

You'd be a much better opponent for a PPV undercard fight.

It's just numbers game, they want to get has many fight wins under his belt as quickly as possible, so they can fast track him, I think this is a big mistake as Larry Holmes worry was that he could be burnt out, so they don't care about the standard for this fight.

He needs to go rounds. build up now so that when the titles come closer he's ready to go the championship distance... you can't blast guys out forever.

Eddie and AJ want to look at Price's record and avoid the mistakes made.

2 hours ago Eddie tweeted someone saying Joshua was fighting Avila. It was in response to somebody saying he was fighting Fleary, so it looks like the original fight is still on.

Danny has said the fight is still on.......said hes getting a years salary in one fight. Said he moving back to cruiser after this. I did see the hearn tweet tho so I am not sure what's happening. Imo its a fight that should not happen so I hope hearn is right.

To be fair, did Matchroom ever announce the fight was off or has it always been the word of Fleary?

Id love to know who put this on! It wasnt ever confirmed but I was offered the fight. As is happened, it fell through. But the negotiations were in place. But my lord, its a surprise to see what rubbish people talk about boxing. End of the day, Im a boxer, and I will fight anyone who I believe i can compete against, and also who I could protect myself against. Isn't that what boxing is meant to be about? Competing? Danny Fleary.

It's also about matching boxers correctly. I don't doubt you would have given it your all Danny but you were being matched against a big, athletic and skillful boxer who is a weight division above you and despite his lack of pro experience is probably already good enough to fight for a British title. Meanwhile you only have two fights under your belt. The Illyemi fight is a far better match up. Good luck! :TU:
