Any news on how Tonys training camp is going at the moment. All very quiet what with the Froch Groves hype machine rumbling toward overdrive

Was a good piece in saturdays mail from Carragher training with him. Interview on ringside apparently, might be next thursday tho.

How would this rank in the list of great British boxing away wins?

It's better he's quiet before this one, he expends a lot of energy and gets really hyped up; he'll need all his energy v Stevenson.

I've not heard much TBH, but I think it's simply because of Froch/Groves.

That fight is massive & it's happening in the UK, so it's taking all the headlines at the moment.

If Tony Bellew keeps his trap closed before a fight that can only be a good thing for him, we don't need to hear "die in the ring" to then produce one of the dullest displays in British boxing since Johnny Nelson retired.

Froch groves is probably eliminating some of the pressure which can only be a good thing

Would it? Behind Honeyghan and Stracey perhaps? For beating Stevenson... It wouldn't even be bigger than Benn-Barkley! Adonis isn't REALLY Superman, you know.

No but Bellew isn't Benn!

Benn had been beaten by Michael Watson. Bellew has been beaten by Nathan Cleverly. Benn went over to the states to fight a guy who had knocked out Tommy Hearns. Bellew is going over to fight a guy who knocked out Chad Dawson. I can say even at this early stage with some certainty having sat through 24 rounds of Bellew-Chilemba that Tony Bellew is no Nigel Benn.

Benn gave him a right old whack when Barkley was on the floor as well

Yes that was a great achievement but what we are saying is that Bellew is not that good so for him to pull off a win would be a great/amazing/nothing short of a miracle achievement. Look, it aint happening so no point arguing.

I feel like Bellew will be very lucky to get out of the third round. If Stevenson turns it on early he could end it in the first.

The form guide does suggest Stevenson should win easily, he looked to me to be a bit of an untidy boxer before his fight with Cloud but then against Cloud he looked to have superb technique. However one thing with Cloud is he is a shorty and Bellew is 6ft2 odd with long arms. He needs to try and frustrate Stevenson with his height as he has a big height and reach advantage. He can win this if he boxes to a plan so good luck to him. Really hope he can pull it off.
