Any news on how Tonys training camp is going at the moment. All very quiet what with the Froch Groves hype machine rumbling toward overdrive
It's not till the 30th.Riddick Blowe wrote:I didn't even realise the fight was on.

You can guarantee that if he does pull it off we will hear plenty of 'he was overrated' bollocks.TopGun wrote:jameswilson wrote:How would this rank in the list of great British boxing away wins?
Would certainly make top 3....if not one of the best!
Would it? Behind Honeyghan and Stracey perhaps? For beating Stevenson... It wouldn't even be bigger than Benn-Barkley! Adonis isn't REALLY Superman, you know.TopGun wrote:jameswilson wrote:How would this rank in the list of great British boxing away wins?

Benn had been beaten by Michael Watson. Bellew has been beaten by Nathan Cleverly. Benn went over to the states to fight a guy who had knocked out Tommy Hearns. Bellew is going over to fight a guy who knocked out Chad Dawson. I can say even at this early stage with some certainty having sat through 24 rounds of Bellew-Chilemba that Tony Bellew is no Nigel Benn.mickey1975 wrote:We don't know yet! Benn had been stopped, with a jab, at that stage.
I don't think he is either, but as you said, Barkley had beaten Hearns. Benn was also out on his feet against Logan. Stevenson got chinned by a gatekeeper. My point was, it wouldn't be an all time top tree result, Benn doing Barkley in one was just as impressive.WayoftheCass wrote:Benn had been beaten by Michael Watson. Benn gave him a right old whack when Barkley was on the floor as wellmickey1975 wrote:I don't think he is either, but as you said, Barkley had beaten Hearns. He will try put it on him early. He doesn't mess about.Riddick Blowe wrote:I feel like Bellew will be very lucky to get out of the third round. If Stevenson turns it on early he could end it in the first.
